Chris Coons is a full-fledged, un-apologetic, in-your-face, MARXIST!

Does anyone else find it odd that Coon(a mega wealthy lawyer, whose family owns one of the largest manufacturers in the country) is sastisfied with being a county executive in Delaware? Me thinks he wasn’t doing this because he wanted to ‘help’ his state. I smell incompetence and someone who could not cut the mustard in his family biz or the private sector.

From a W.L. Gore & Associates government relations attorney to a possible US Senate seat?

How much of that cap and trade cash would funnel to the privately held company which his family founded?

We’d be glad to give it to Delaware.

Good question. I just find it odd that he wanted to be a county executive. It is pretty unusual to leap from being a county executive to becoming a US senate candidate.

Remember the lefty dem/media put downs of Sarah and their mocking of her progression from Wasilla mayor, to Alaska’s governorship, to a VP candidate? Here we have a former doper trust fund kid, plucked from a county executive position, to run for a US senate seat on the democrat ticket. Spotting the rank hypocrisy of the dems and the media is an everyday occurence for us FReepers, but I wonder if others really ‘get it’ sometimes.

Do we know if he was/is still working for the family biz after he took the county executive seat?

Below....very interesting

“Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist.”

In the article, Coons…chronicled his transformation from a sheltered, conservative-minded college student who had worked for former GOP Delaware Sen. William Roth and had campaigned for Ronald Reagan in 1980 into a cynical young adult who was distrustful of American power and willing to question the American notion of free enterprise.

The source of his conversion, Coons wrote, was a trip to Kenya…“My friends now joke that something about Kenya, maybe the strange diet, or the tropical sun, changed my personality; Africa to them seems a catalytic converter that takes in clean-shaven, clear-thinking Americans and sends back bearded Marxists,” Coons wrote…

“[I]t is only too easy to return from Africa glad to be American and smugly thankful for our wealth and freedom,” added Coons. “Instead, Amherst had taught me to question, so in turn I questioned Amherst, and America.”

Hoffman said the trip to Kenya helped lead to Coons’s decision to become a Democrat…

In one passage of the article, Coons explains how in the months leading up to the trip abroad “leftists” on campus and college professors had begun to “challenge the basic assumptions” he had formed about America.

A course on cultural anthropology, noted Coons, had “undermined the accepted value of progress and the cultural superiority of the West,” while a class on the Vietnam War led him to “suspect…that the ideal of America as a ‘beacon of freedom and justice, providing hope for the world’ was not exactly based in reality.

“I realize that Kenya and America are very different, but experiences like this warned me that my own favorite beliefs in the miracles of free enterprise and the boundless opportunities to be had in America were largely untrue.”

Then there was that time he was sued for falsely accusing a man of...

“violating federal court orders, unethical behavior and other wrongdoing...disclosing to the Delaware media that plaintiff was dying of a brain tumor and that it
was causing him to act erratically. Plaintiff also asserts that the Individual Defendants discussed
his private medical information with numerous other individuals and during county government
meetings”

Got off under immunity but an awful thing to do.

Today, with more than $2 billion in annual sales and more than 8,000 employees (called associates) worldwide, the company is owned by members of the Gore family and associates. Gore prefers this private ownership and believes this reinforces a key element of its culture to “take a long term view” when assessing business situations.

Comment by Iowa Democrat on 8 April 2010 at 3:55 pm:

Comment by Geezer: “They are in separate battles. You won’t win Castle many points by noting that his challenger is rich. So is Castle, though not Michelle Rollins rich.

Has anyone seen Coons’ financial disclosure statements? Is his fortune in the same league as Rollins’?

As far as going after her husband, I’ll use any excuse to bash his greedy, arrogant, roasting-in-hell soul. It won’t be used against her by anyone but me.”

I don’t think Coons has ever released his financial information, and I’m not sure that he has to depending upon whether the assets are in his name, a trust, etc. I do think he should not pretend that he has benefitted from his step dad’s wealth. I heard him at a talk during his 2008 primary and tried to protray himself as this poor child from a single mom. And he claimed (or strongly implied) he was able to go to college because of the Truman scholarship he received. He did get the scholarship, but not only did he not need it, those are huge scholarships. In the talk/interview (I heard it on WDEL) he completely ignored his mom’s marriage, and how their life obviously changed after that. It seemed to me that he saw being lucky that his mom married well as a liability. I don’t see it that way, but I saw his claiming to know about people’s financial struggles because he grew up the product of a struggling single mother, who could barely make ends meet bordering on dishonest. I don’t doubt for a few years before his mom married Gore he knew hard times, but to make it sound like during your entire youth you did without, and without the Truman scholarship you wouldn’t have been able to afford college was pretty phony.

My guess is we’ll never see a financial document, other than bare bones on either Coons or Rollins, but I don’t see wealth as an issue.

Also I agree Rollins’ husband is fair game.

Very telling comment from that voter. The trust fund doper brat dishonestly tries to portray himself as the poor child of a single mother...WHAT A FRIGGIN JOKE!! He really DOES have alot in common with Obama. Both play the ‘poor single mother’ violin and

1.They both are marxists.
2.They both spent time in Kenya(or were born there..who knows?)LOL
3.They both went to school on scholarships(even though their families could afford college and their grades likely sucked)
4.They both despise capitalism even though they both have benefitted from it enormously)
5.They both have never accomplished anything in the private sector and very little in the public sector before they were plucked from obscurity
6.They both did and/or do drugs

What have I left out?
It is always astonishing to see these rich brat dems from wealthy industrialist/capitalist families become marxists. (eye roll)

More on Coons...

Kenyan Marxist: No, Not Obama, Chris Coons
Wednesday, September 15, 2010 5:50 pm
tags: Chris Coons, Christine O’Donnell, Communist, Delaware, Senateby Brian O’Connor
. ShareThis

“Can you guess which man is the Kenyan Marxist?”
Communist, Democrat, What’s the Difference?

Democrats came out drooling Wednesday morning, saying that Christine O’Donnell was just the candidate they wanted in the Delaware Senate race.

Which got me thinking.

If the Democrats are acting so giddy and excited…

What are they trying to hide?

Could it be Chris Coons’ past?

An article Democrat Chris Coons wrote for his college newspaper may not go over so well in corporation-friendly Delaware, where he already faces an uphill battle for Vice President Joe Biden’s old Senate seat.

The title? “Chris Coons: The Making of a Bearded Marxist.”

In the article, Coons, then 21 years old and about to graduate from Amherst College, chronicled his transformation from a sheltered, conservative-minded college student who had worked for former GOP Delaware Sen. William Roth and had campaigned for Ronald Reagan in 1980 into a cynical young adult who was distrustful of American power and willing to question the American notion of free enterprise.

“My friends now joke that something about Kenya, maybe the strange diet, or the tropical sun, changed my personality; Africa to them seems a catalytic converter that takes in clean-shaven, clear-thinking Americans and sends back bearded Marxists,” Coons wrote, noting that at one time he had been a “proud founding member of the Amherst College Republicans.”

Hoffman said the trip to Kenya helped lead to Coons’ decision to become a Democrat.

Hilarious!

Our political system did not have a Communist party, so Coons joined the next best thing.

The Democrat Party.

Between Harry Reid’s oopsie and Chris Coon’s record, it seems that it’s Christine O’Donnell who got just what she wanted in the Delaware Senate race.

Excellent question. Divorce I suspect...I think the Coons part of him hails from the South Shore of Boston: Norwell/Hingham to be specific.

Coons hails from the town of Norwell in Massachusetts, or at least the family does. The old man (name of Kenelm) looks as though he was married in 1984 in Las Vegas...very interesting family history.
