Geez man, 99.999% of the American Public didn't even know what the Internet was then

LOL....

My kids still get a laugh when I explain how when I was a kid, we didn't actually HAVE computers, how my first calculator was great because it could add, subtract, multiply, and sometimes divide, and had 12 whole digits but you could only look at six at a time.

Then I tell them to look up my name on google, and see that I was posting to the "internet" before they were born. Ahh, Usenet, those were the days.....

God, that reminds me of all the fights on sci.skeptic about people not treating others with respect, and making personal attacks....

I guess nothing really changes, does it. Flamewar!!!!!

:-)

In 1998, my mother was explaining to my children that when she was a kid, they didn't have microwave ovens. When my third daughter, who was five at the time, asked (with great concern in her voice), "You mean you didn't have popcorn when you were a kid?"

We all just fell out - literally rolling on the floor laughing! That night, we went to the store and purchased old-fashioned popcorn and made it on the stove with oil, a pan, a lid and 20 minutes of shaking directly over the fire!

Good times!
