I think it depends on how the Rider Cup works. For example, if it is an award for entire career than perhaps he should be chosen. If it is just for 2010, then why not wait until he has a good year. Why was he not picked last year? Arnold Palmer should be chosen this year if it is for entire career.

Tiger... Douchebag sex addict that he is can still play some golf... And unless you have a specific person you’d put in his place you just might be a race baiting little troll.

napscoordinator,
You’ve got it all wrong.
Ryder cup takes place every two years.
Between America and the best of Euroope.
So even you could be selected.
It is the best of each that competes in various ways to play a golf game.
Tiger despite his human failings is still a golfing force.

Now then, what part of Italy are you at?

What a ridiculous vanity....and analogy. Tiger Woods is the best GOLFER there ever was. Regardless of race, ethnicity, personal failings, he is the most talented and genuinely sport-altering athlete there ever was. (Jordan is second).

I know it’s popular to “hate” on those that achieve, and his personal life is an easy target to distract from the reality , but facts are stubborn things.I reccommend that you Youtube Tiger Woods......if you truely understand, and appreciate golf, you will probably change your position.

If I were the Ryder Cup coach (Pavin), I would have begged Tiger to join the team. I would consider Tiger not being on the team as an obvious detriment to the USA’s chances of a championship.

This man has single-handedly revolutionized a sport....in his learning years. I’m sorry he’s had a disappointing year...(abbreviated schedule) When he doesn’t win every week, he must be a phenom has-been?.....living on his past accomplishments?.....wow.

We are watching BaBe Ruth, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky and Pele all rolled up into one.....right before our eyes, and because it seemingly came all too easy for him, we immediate;y pounce on his stumbles? As I recall, they all had their own picadillos too. You may want to put aside your feined outrage of infidelity.....afterall, celebrities never cheat.

Tiger is just a man. He is also lightning in a bottle. You may want to remember, and appreciate the history your are watching unfold before your eyes......I say he should be on the Ryder Team......I imagine Corey Pavin is sleeping better because of it.

Using your same logic then you have to say the same thing about Mickelson. Why was he chosen?

Mickelson bombed out of the Crowne Plaza Invitational in May, missed the cut and dissed the media (media was pretty hush hush on that little incident weren't they?) at the Barclays Championship in August and finished dismally tied for 25th at the Deutsche Bank championship. That's hardly a record I would want representing my team. Maybe Mickelson was given a Politically Correct spot since he's the only representative of left handers on the team.........

Mickelson and Woods both belong on the team because they are two of the best golfers in the world.

Woods did not play on the 2008 team because of knee surgery. Remember he played hurt in a lot of tournaments that year and had to get it fixed. We won the Cup handily that year, against the odds. Woods played on the team for several turns going back to the late 1990s (I think). We won some of those, but got our butts handed to us by the Euros in 2004 and 2006.
