new york state RIGHT TO LIFE COMMITTEE, INC.
August 9,2010
DioGuardi for US Senate 420 South Riverside Ave., Suite 321 Croton-an-Hudson, NY 10520
Dear Mr. DioGuardi:
We are pleased to inform you that we enthusiastically endorse your candidacy for the United Sates Senate in New York.
We sincerely appreciate your commitment to defend and protect unborn children, the dependent elderly and those with disabilities. On behalf of the innocent and vulnerable members of the human family, we thank you for your resolve to value the sanctity of Life at all stages of development.
We believe that your election to the Senate would help to cultivate a culture of Life in an increasingly hostile environment. We wish you a successful campaign, looking forward to your stand for Life in the United States Senate!

"Date: Thursday, July 25, 1996
It has been reliably reported that the leadership has imposed certain penalties on Congressmen Chris Smith and Bob Dornan because of their support for former Congressman Joseph DioGuardi, who is challenging Congresswomen Sue Kelly in the New York Republican primary."

Is he facing Schumer or Gillebrand?
He is facing Gillibrand, which would be an easier win, as you know. Many people don’t like Gillibrand’s flip flops.
DioGuardi’s GOP opponents (Malpass and Blackeman) are not pro-life, and here’s more on them, including an article from Alan Keyes:
Malpass pro choice w/parental notification
“I searched using the question Is David Malpass pro-life? and turned up an article with the following information his stances on some social issues are fairly moderate. He is pro-choice but says there should be no federal funding for abortions. He supports parental notification and is against late-term abortions. On the issue of gay marriage, Malpass says he only supports civil unions.

Blakeman - http://www.examiner.com/independent-in-rochester/blakeman-another-clueless-republican-hypocrite
I know you met Joe DioGuardi, so hope you’ll contribute to this thread. Thanx.
Joe D. understands fiscal matters, too:
“In 1990, the bill that I introduced as a junior member of Congress, the Chief Financial Officer and Federal Reform Act, to help bring fiscal sanity to the budget process in Washington, DC, was signed into law.
Two years later, I wrote a book to warn the American people about the gross lack of fiscal responsibility, financial accountability, and transparency on Capitol Hill, even predicting the inevitable insolvency of America.
Today it is absolutely clear that my grave concerns can no longer be ignored, as millions of Americans lose their jobs and their homes. I want to finish the job that I began in 1985 to insure that the United States is once again acting in a fiscally responsible way to protect our economic and national security.”

You left out the part on his website where he calls Afghanistan a “war of choice”. I dunno, maybe 3k people dying all in one day doesn’t quite justify it in his mind, but it sure does in mine.
I was going to vote for him until I started digging deeper, and found the anti-war stuff unpalatable. He sort of disgusts me.
I don’t agree with him on that, but the LIFE issue is my litmus test, plus I agree with him on around 75% of the issues, and in NYS, that’s pretty darn good.
Joe DioGuardio is the ONLY pro-LIFE candidate out of the three in the race against flip-flopping Kirsten Gillibrand, and if a person doesn’t have good morals, how can I trust them about anything?
I like that not only is Joe D. pro-2nd amendment rights, but he understands what the 2nd amendment is all about:
“2nd Amendment
The Second Amendment clearly protects an individual’s right to “keep and bear arms,” and as such, grants law-abiding citizens the right of gun ownership. In upholding the Second Amendment, we preserve the inalienable right to self-defense as well as protect the numerous hunting traditions so many New Yorkers enjoy.
I will always defend the Constitution and make certain that the commonsense provisions enshrined by the words of our Founding Fathers are diligently and properly upheld in the U.S. Senate.”

Now that Kara has officially been released from being an American Idol judge, she’ll probably raise money for her dad.
I wish money weren’t so important, but it is.
I found this very interesting:
“Former U.S. Senator Republican Al DAmato who is publicly supporting Blakeman but privately supporting Gillibrand, fought hard to keep DioGuardi from winning the GOP designee spot, possibly in a slap to the face of Conservatives who overwhelmingly support DioGuardi, but definitely because his close and long-standing relationship with Gillibrand and her family has DAmato supporting Gillibrand all along.”

Al DAmato canNOT be trusted. I can remember being shocked when I saw D’Amato on stage with Kirsten Gillibrand when Gov. Paterson picked her to replace Hillary.
D’Amato is supposed to be a Republican, and there he is on stage with Gillibrand and all the other Dems, and NOW he is “publicly supporting Blakeman” according to the blog?
I couldn’t tell if he’s a tea party conservative.
But he’s not a foreign policy conservative but he is a social conservative, and is right on guns.
I’m not sure I like the “bicycle paths”. I thought “did someone hack his website?”
I’m going with Blakeman. He’s not pro-abort.
The constitution doesn’t give the Feds any say in the matter. Therefore I will not be voting for another R that might as well be a D, just because he makes it an issue. Blakeman is more concerned with giving us back our liberty because if we don’t get that back everything else, including any hope to end abortion will be completely gone.
If you want to hold your nose and vote, and get more of the same, that’s up to you, but I’ve had enough progressive republicans to last a life time.
Is Blakeman the tea party candidate?
Joe DioGuardi supports nuke energy, so I’ll give him a pass on the bike trail. :)
Besides being a social conservative, he’s a strong fiscal conservative, and knows what he’s talking about.
“In addition to being pro-life, pro-family and pro-America, Joe wrote the book on sound fiscal policy before it was popular in Unaccountable Congress It Doesnt Add Up (Regency, 1992).
Joe DioGuardi has written a courageous and practical book about the phony budgeting process Congress uses to sustain its financial profligacy. He has both a keen understanding of its accounting gimmickry and some excellent suggestions about how to straighten out our budgetary tangle William E. Simon, Former Secretary of the Treasury”’
The NY Conservative Party endorsed Joe D., but I can’t tell you which one of the three the Tea Party is with, if any.
Joe DioGuardi is pro-LIFE, pro-2nd amendment, pro-border security, a STRONG fiscal conservative, pro-nuclear energy. No way will I be holding my nose. I can’t WAIT to vote for Joe!
Can you prove to me that Blakeman is not a pro-abort?
There was nothing on his website. Is he trying to hide how he feels about abortion? If you find out, please post an excerpt and link here, so we all will know his position.
