Don’t even get me started on Kereouwac (?) ... “Lolita” another waste of time. I did for some bizarre reason enjoy “Naked Lunch” but I wouldn’t claim to have understood it.

Kerouac lived in St. Petersburg when he was old - my home area. I read On the Road and liked it ... but it was so many years ago ... might not like it today. That said, I liked Leonard Cohen's, Beautiful Losers and one reviewer said it was the most disgusting book ever published in Canada... thankfully it was never banned.

My main problem with artists and writers is when they write and produce mainly to offend because they lack talent. And to add insult to injury - there are publishers who buy the stuff to vent their hatred of conservatives and traditional Americans.
