Over the past week, several political-insider wizards of smart have deemed Republican senatorial hopeful Christine O’Donnell unelectable – almost taking it to the point of vitriolic screeds you’d expect to hear from left-wing commentators, which would probably appear as a guest on MSNBC in their prime time lineup

Yep. From this event I have come to realize the Political Elite that runs the GOP has far more in common with the Obama-Pelosie-Reid political machine then they do with average citizens

“They’re following me,” she told The Weekly Standard. “They follow me home at night. I make sure that I come back to the townhouse and then we have our team come out and check all the bushes and check all the cars to make sure that—they follow me.”

Now suddenly this has raised the ire of some conservative pundits – suggesting that she isn’t fit for office because of her caution. But actually, she does have cause for concern. According to a video from her campaign – it has been documented that operatives from her opponent’s campaign, Rep. Mike Castle, have in fact attended events she hosted with video cameras. So how would you feel if you were being followed with a video camera?

Sorry, flame me if you will but she sounds like a bit of a nut. Campaigns film at opponents’s events all the time hoping they catch you saying something dumb or kooky. This is nothing new. That’s a far cry however from “following you home” or that they’re hiding in the bushes and thus needing to send campaign aides out to search through the landscaping. This claim makes her sound a little weird. Add to that her claim that her home and office were vandalized, yet she didn’t report either to the police, and it seems she has a pattern of either paranoid delusion or just making up victim claims to score political points. I’m not a fan of Mike Castle. But we could have done better coming up with a conservative opponent to the guy. This one seems like a lose-lose.

There is a difference between your opponents' staffers showing up with videocameras at public meetings - a completely legal and standard campaign practice that has been going on for decades - and people concealing themselves on your private property in the middle of the night, which is not only completely beyond the pale of standard campaigning but is also illegal and a felony in many jurisdictions.

You're asking us to equate the two activities, when they're not even remotely the same.
