Breslin: Tea Partiers Are Like Kennedy's Killer Sirhan Sirhan, Are Racists Filled With 'Madness'
Publius Forum ^ | 09/06/10 | Warner Todd Huston

For those that thought faded journo Jimmy Breslin had passed on to his great reward, fear not for ol’ Jimmy is back and this time he wants you all to know that you Tea Partiers are wild-eyed racists filled with madness. Heck you are all as crazy as Bobby Kennedy’s killer Sirhan-Sirhan, you Tea Partiers are dangerous, and prone to riot and your inflammatory air is disturbing Jimmy’s retirement. Shame on you.

In a rambling, maudlin piece for Harper's Magazine, Breslin, a former Newsday columnist, took after the Tea Party movement in a thinly veiled attack that compares the “national air” today to those days of race riots and the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Bobby Kennedy. Breslin feels that the Tea Party movement is a dangerous element obviously about to turn the country into yet another seething cauldron of violence.

Without actually naming the Tea Party Breslin invokes some of the most turbulent times that America has seen in his lifetime and intimates that those times are returning due to the “mob” he sees in the streets today.

He begins his piece shrilly claiming that the national air today is like “claws of madness” that “swipe through the sky,” the same madness that resulted in Bobby Kennedy’s 1968 assassination. He then recites a quote from Oliver Wendell Holmes who warned that laws could not prevent inciting lies from being spread...

You racist tea party members should be ashamed of not being just like leftists, don't you know?

I wonder how much Breslin has paid for liver transplants over the years. Too much alcohol and too much hate toward anyone who disagrees with him or gets in his perceived (woozy) way.

The biggest amount of racism in this country these days is anti-white. If Caucasians didn't vote for Obama, he wouldn't be in the White House, Jimmy. His approval rating is less than 50%. Is that because more than 50% of Americans are racists? You are a bitter ideologue.

According to this fool, Citizens peacefully exercising their Constitutional Rights is bad. I guess Lefties creating a disturbance and breaking the law over an issue like SB 1070 is ok. Its going to be real entertaining watching the Looney Left spin out of control over the next couple of months.

Apparently he’s still around. Sounds like he’s gone senile.

It wouldn’t make any diffence to these clowns if the Tea Party existed or not. What they say now about the TPers is what they’ve said about opponents to socialism and liberalism for half a century or more. To oppose progressivism is to be a nasty, racist, violent, tobacco-chewing hick who needs his or liberal betters i.e. the Jimmy Breslins of the world to show them the way. I’ve actually read one of Breslin’s novels, and it was pretty good. But common sense-wise, like ninety percent of the “arts” world, he has his head jammed up his keister.

This months Harper's cover...."War On Happiness". Next month's cover is, "Why You Should FEAR President Giuliani"

It’s time for libel charges against some of these chumps. Is a class-action libel suit possible?

The charge of racism is simply ludicrous with regard to Tea Partiers, but it’s being made continuously.

We just want a free, capitalistic, hard-working and prosperous America back - not the socialist hellhole 0 prefers. Race has NOTHING to do with it.

What was the scene like back in 68, Jimmy?

Remember that? Leftists rioting, Muslim assassinating, media declaring VN lost after Tet victory. Your “good guys” had it all back then: Presidency, House, Senate.

And then the “good guys” blew it. They made such a mess of things, just like today. You’re delusional and immature. Such hateful and childish namecalling from such a “mature” journOlist.

Grow up and get some psychiatric help.

Jimmy Breslin, aka “The Has Been” Breslin, is alive and dreaming of days gone by when new faces in the media fawned at his feet. But since he retired in ‘04, he’s found out that he misses the spotlight and the ass-kissing newcomers, so he makes these foolish statements every so often as Cronkite did, to get back in the headlines. Frankly, he’s even more boring than ever.

Fortunately, it’s in Harper’s, so no one will read this piece of editorial dung.

So damned ridiculous for them to lump the Tea partiers together with racists. Why do people do that?

Easy - 'cause they're desperate.

Nothing scares a liberal more than an informed and organized electorate. Thanks to the disastrous non-leadership of one Barack H. Obama, this Nation is getting the civics lesson of its life. Breslin is bemoaning the impending dismemberment of the socialist utopia he himself had a hand in building through his opportunistic career as a commentator. But they cannot attack the Tea Party activists on what they do - peaceful protests, quoting the Constitution, arming themselves with facts. No, they must attack this threat on what the Tea Partiers "really" think - which is simple (and nearly impossible to disprove) - they hate black people.

The only cards left for the democrat party are hate cards, envy cards, violent cards, intimidation cards a la New Black Panther Party at the voting booth, fear cards, voter fraud cards, white guilt cards, last and foremost THE RACE CARD

The elites are really, really scared of Tea Party power if they have to drag out a fossil like Jimmy Breslin to mount a propaganda attack!
