I won't convert to ebooks until I'm confident that I will actually
own the books I buy. As long as they have DRM (Digital Rights Management), all you are actually buying a limited-use license to the book.
Remember when Amazon removed everyone's copy of "1984" from their Kindles?

You make some good points, Johnny.
I do love my reader, though. So easy to carry around (I have an older Sony and it's small).
I thought I'd miss holding a book. I don't. So nice to not have to hold the pages open when reading. But I get that a lot of people really like having the books to be able to turn the pages.

I won't convert to ebooks until I'm confident that I will actually own the books I buy. Hmmm... Barter for a Kindle reader...and then barter for Amazon gift cards to buy books with. BTW, does Amazon even have gift cards? I know eBay does.
