Two wrongs do not make it right. Disregarding the social contract of the Constitution for the sake of being elected into power under false pretenses does nothing whatsoever to inspire confidence in the integrity and trustworthiness of the GOP. Your approach was already attempted in the 2008 election and rejected by a large enough number of conservative voters to doom the campaign of McCain and many other Republicans dependent upon the contributions of conservative and independent voters. Replaying the same error with more energy and renewed hope can only further divide conservatives further and diminish support for Republican candidates even further than before, despite the conservative reactions to the Obama Administration. You simply cannot persuade many conservatives and many independents to trade one unprincipled politician for another.

You can either be a Patriot who protects and defends the Constitution and its social contract limiting the encroachment of government upon the rights and liberties reserved to the states and individual citizens, even when doing so is unpopular and harmful to your personal circumstances, or you can find an infinite number of excuses why not doing so is not expedient today, perhaps tomorrow, or perhaps forever.

Saul Alinsky called upon the Marxist revolutionaries to challenge the ability of the democracy to live up to its own professed standards until they are found to be wanting. The proposed strategy of marginalizing the Constitutional eligibility issue and any person defending the Constitution plays directly into the hands of Saul Alinsky and his Marxist disciples. If you cannot live up to the standards of the Constitution, many people will ask why they should be bothered to do so at the risk of their own personal ruin just o put you into positions of power in their lives? On the other hand, if you demonstrate the Constitution means what it says and you are there to protect and defend it and the citizens it protects, perhaps they will trust you enough to delegate you into power with their votes.

I didn’t stand behind McCain or his nomination. I didn’t like his half assed campaign. Comparing a rally to the McCain campaign is ridiculous.

Inclining that I am not a Patriot for wanting to help throw an election is crazy. I don’t trust the Republicans of yesteryear either - but we have an opportunity to stop the train from going off the cliff and holding the newly elected R’s feet to the fire.

This rally can wait 3 weeks and it is no skin off anyone’s nose - because if you haven’t notice - Obama is not on the ballot. Other candidates will be effected - but Obama will still be in office whether this rally is held today, in Oct or Jan.

I won’t support this rally or participate.
