We must not drop the ball on this. The issue is far more dangerous than the fifth column enemedia and democrap party operatives will allow the American people to know.

Compiled from sources on the Internet:

In the year 711 Tariq ibn Ziyad set foot on Spanish soil for the first time along with 7,000 soldiers. The moment he arrived, he ordered their ships to be burnt so that none of the soldiers would harbor ideas of leaving again. The arrival of Tariq ibn Ziyad was the first step towards the creation of the Umayyad*footnote state in Andalusia. And from there onwards, Muslims were to rule for eight centuries in this land. It took Tariq ibn Ziyad and his soldiers only one-and-a-half months to take control of the enormous land of Spain before them.

This city was for many years the capital of the Andalusian Umayyads.

There is no question that the opulence and beauty of the mosque were the products of Muslim builders and artists. But there is also no question that the mosque at Cordoba represents a history of conquest and reconquest that, from the perspective of Islamists, is at an unfinished stage as of today. The caliphate of Cordoba was the geographic high point of Umayyad Muslim rule – that is, of the original caliphate that succeeded Mohammed – on European territory. It represents a glory that Islamists intend to restore. Its eventual loss to the Europeans represents, equally, an evil reversal, imposed by infidels, that requires redress.

“Cordoba,” in Islamic symbolic terms, means Islamic rule in the West. It does not mean “coexistence,” unless coexistence is interpreted as referring to Islamic rule. Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs cites the article (original in Arabic) published by Iraqi-American Khudhayr Taher on 18 May, in which Taher explains the following:

We must note that a hostile and provocative name [Cordoba] has been chosen for this mosque…Choosing the name ‘Cordoba House’ for the mosque to be constructed in New York was not coincidental or random and innocent. It bears within it significance and dreams of expansion and invasion [into the territory] of the other, [while] striving to change his religion and to subjugate him…

__________

* Umayyad (ūmä'yäd), the first Islamic dynasty (661-750). Their reign witnessed the return to leadership roles of the pre-Islamic Arab elite, and the rejuvenation of tribal loyalties. The Banu Ummaya constituted the higher stratum of the pre-Islamic Meccan elite. Having entered into an agreement with Muhammad in 630, they succeeded in preserving their economic influence, and gradually reintegrated into the political power structure. The assassination of Uthman, the third caliph, and a member of the Ummaya, presented the dynamic Ummayad figure of Muawiya the opportunity to challenge the otherwise troubled rulership of Ali. With the death of Ali, Muawiya succeeded in establishing himself as the caliph, making Damascus the capital of the Islamic empire. His efforts concentrated on strengthening his rule by entering into a truce with the Byzantines, renewing tribal alliances and securing the succession of his son Yazid. With the death of Muawiya in 680, Yazid faced the opposition of Husayn, the son of Ali. The resistance and subsequent martyrdom of Husayn at Karbala in a battle where the Ummayad forces outnumbered him and his partisans is the focus of the central yearly Shiite observance of Ashura. Yazid also faced further resistance in the Hijaz (today Saudi Arabia), led by Abdallah ibn az-Zubayr. With his death, the caliphate was transfered to the Marwanid branch of the Banu Ummaya. Abd al-Malik succeeded in consolidating Ummayad rule, and proceeded with a series of administrative reforms including the conversion of the bureaucracy from Greek to Arabic, and the minting of new currency. This consolidation set the stage for the renewal of territorial expansion in Asia and Africa under Walid I (705-15), and the increased military pressure against Byzantium under Sulayman (715-17). Sulayman's successor, Umar II (717-20) unsuccessfully attempted to reverse the course of tribal-based politics in an effort to restore the Islamic political ideal of transcending partisanships. His successors, Yazid II (720-24), Hisham (724-43), and Walid (743-44) pursued the tribal-based territorial conquests. The expansion of the Islamic empire led to the emergence of a substantial class of non-tribal Muslims (mawali), who became the base from which anti-Ummayad movements drew their supporters. The most notable of these movements was the Abbasid, which eventually succeeded in toppling the last Ummayad caliph, Marwan II, in 750. A branch of the Ummayad family, led by Abd ar-Rahman ad-Dakhil, was able to reach Cordoba and to reestablish Umayyad rule (780-1031) in Muslim Spain. For the unknowing....

When the founding fathers thought of America, their little baby, the last thing they wanted was an invasive force to stifle, smother it, and then overwhelm it and kill it.

Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.

This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

When the founding fathers thought of America, their little baby, the last thing they wanted was an invasive force to stifle, smother it, and then overwhelm it and kill it.

The sooner America learns this , the better.

Obama? Obama and Company? Should be tried for treason in this issue for promoting the establishment of a foreign government on our soils. He is doing nothing to protect America as per his oath. Also, as a Muslim, he knows this, he know far better, he knows sharia, but is looking to deceive America.

I dunno. How large is the percentage of the sheeple that buy into class warfare? “The rich don’t pay their fair share.” “it’s for the children” “right wing hate speech needs to be banned”

The last thing many of the doomed airline passengers heard on 9-11 was "allahu akbar." The 9-11 atrocity was dedicated to islam by suicidal muslims - and the silence of the "moderate" muslims since then has been deafening.

Remember how Rahm Emmanuel (or someone) said they were surprised that all the noise died down after Scott Brown was elected to Teddy Kennedy’s seat in MA? They were surprised the conservatives just dropped it; then the libs didn’t have to fight anymore.

Let’s don’t let that happen. I am really, strongly against it. I don’t care if they call me names, I am not going to drop it. Honestly, the few ‘elected’ officials think that THEY can make US knuckle under? Let it not be said.

I’ll say again — our friends in Switzerland worked hard on the minaret ban that was passed there recently. He said most of his fellow Protestant pastors did NOT understand; they thot he was cranky and mean. They wanted to let the Muslims come ‘and then we will convert them.’

The abbott of a nearby Catholic monastery joined with him, and they were able to ban minarets by a popular vote. He could not believe the resistance to their proposition nor the ignorance of history he encountered.

Great post.

In the end, we will have to face the truth. Which is that islam is not at all compatible with our Western values. It is literally a matter of survival. The majority of people in this country have not quite come to this realization yet. They will though. I’d give it about ten years or so.

Islam has only one goal, and that is world domination. For people to keep denying that is very, very dumb and ignorant.

If you don’t have a serious and immediate problem with Islam, like he does, does it matter what is two blocks away from ground zero as long as it’s paying the bills?

The 'serious' and 'immediate' problem has to do with Islam's bullheaded push for this Ground Zero Mosque and the writer's flippant dismissal of any opposition to it as "Who cares? As long as they're paying the bills"
