Why not? The age people have traditionally gotten married at has varied all over the place so as long as they have hit puberty (typically around 13) it does not seem to have caused any harm and in most cases seemed to work fairly well for most societies in the past.

Just because you’re now used to 18 as the minimum age for getting married in the US does not mean that is some magical number arrived at by science or some such thing. It was a campaign by feminist back at the turn of the previous century along with a push to give women the vote and a push to outlaw alcohol. Well we’ve seen how the last two have turned out, the first one might not have been such a good idea either.

Are you sure?

18 is quite "some magical number", and you can offer no evidence of any number being more magical. Spare me your Voodoo B.S. about 27 & 6, because I've heard it all before.

53 is right out. Even the Wiccans make fun of it now.

Numerology is entertaining for a short while. Everybody knows Phrenology is really where its at.

Strawdog arguments are fun. Dazzle me some more.

Sorry but I don’t argue with post menopausal women (or people that act like them). They tend not to be able to think and start spouting random non-sense that they think sounds really good but isn’t even coherent.

spouting random non-sense

Like whether 18 is "some magical number"?

Let's see if we can get back on track.

Why not?

Why not what?

You think it’s okay for fathers to sell their daughters without their consent? If so, I guess doing it early cuts down on the rebellion and the subsequent need to kill them.

“You think it’s okay for fathers to sell their daughters without their consent?”

Look at history, most cultures (until recently) arranged the marriage of BOTH male and female offspring. What did you have as a result? Stable marriages for the most part and intact families with two parents raising their kids.

Now look at what we have today. Over half of the kids are being raised by single parent (female in most cases) families, women turned into little more the whores and rising violence as men raised by females have no self control or respect for authority. So yes, fathers arranging the marriage of their daughters would be OK by me as they are probably better at choosing a mate than she would be.

Your application to become a Muslim is being processed. Meanwhile, be sure to grow your beard to the right length, and get rid of all your music. And oh by the way, they stone men too, not just women. I’m sure you would like it much better if they only stoned women.

Look at history....

Everybody derives their morality from somewhere. History seems a rather odd choice, though.

Would you sex a 13 year old if their father arranged it? How about a 15 year old? Is there a "magic number"?

A morality based on history provides a big ole thumbs up.

It’s really funny how blinded people have become and how invested they are in the socialist/feminist propaganda of our times. I’m not a Muslim and have no desire to be one, nor do I have a desire to live in most Muslim countries (although a few are tempting). However, if they want to structure their culture in a way that conforms with centuries of tradition I see no real problem with that since it acts to preserve the family unit which is the foundation of any civilization.

Yet people on this board continually decry the destruction of traditional values and the family but will instantly turn like crazed dogs on any hint of something out of the norm or is perceived as being anti-woman from a western perspective.

Are arranged marriages better than women slutting it up for 10 or 20 years before finally settling down with some poor schumk that they’ll more than likely divorce anyway? History and current conditions say yes. But for some reason that just drives western minds crazy, “how dare they violate the freedom of these poor young innocent girls/women”. Well there is a choice, and I believe that we in the west have made the wrong choice. I’m not an advocate for girls marrying at 13 but I’m all for letting people decide how they want to live and if some girl wants to get married at 13, why not? No skin off my nose. And if people in some country want to have arranged marriages why not? Again, no skin off my nose, it’s their life they can live it as they see fit.
