Do you know if it happens when the rifle is in need of a thorough cleaning? I keep my weapons very clean and lubed ... well, I used to, before I sold them all to that guy whose name escapes me now.
I wonder if the hammer/firing pin shape could have something to do with it? Maybe the open side on the slide? Anyway, I really enjoy shooting the little rascal. I shoot dandelion puffs at 100 yards and beyond when they're in season.
BTW, I replaced the Universal bolt parts with all Iver Johnson heat treated parts.
All I know is that if I hold the breach open and pull the trigger it goes “click”
I’d have to put an empty case with a primer in there to see if the firing pin actually hits the primer out of breach.
That would be very bad.
