It's one thing for Obama to support the mosque at ground zero, it's another for the former Solicitor General under the Bush Adm. whose wife was killed on the plane that was hi-jacked and crashed into the Pentagon on September 11th to support it...Olsen says: "We don't want to turn an act of hate against us by extremists into an act of intolerance for people of religious faith"...(Video)

Islam has become a terrorist religion, if it wasn’t one all along. You will find fewer muslims criticizing the extremists in the religion than blacks criticizing the Kenyan.

Next time you’re at the ice house, ask the muslim behind the counter what he thinks of Israel and watch his eyes get big and he shutters and shakes.

If freedom of religion is so important, why has it been kicked out of schools, monuments on public property, etc.

Olson is a shyster, just like 95% of the lawyers occupying 50 pages in your yellow pages with recycled paper degrees. He’s in it for the money - maybe Barbara’s life insurance policy got used up. Most lawyers have no scruples and they are power hungry egomaniacs (e.g. Federal judges). Hopefully, FR member lawyers don’t fall in that category. lol

a non-denominational chapel used by various faiths does not equate to a mosque which by definition excludes all who are not muslim.

No, but that’s how the Ass. Press is painting it, as expected...

Except that even Carville wouldn’t approve of a mosque near the WTC site.

Ted Olson was born in Chicago on September 11, 1940. His wife was murdered by Muslim terrorists on his 61rst Birthday. He grew up in The Sanfrancisco Bay Area, and received his Law Degree at UC Berkley. BKO was his third wife and he met his fourth wife Lady Booth, a Kentucky native the year after 9-11. They were married in 2006. I think he indeed has gone over the edge, however he may be just sucking up to Obama to become the next Supreme Ct pick. He is either a self serving P.O.S. or the most ambitious mental case in a long time. I will not be surprised at anything he does. We do not know what went through his mind when his wife died so horribly and dramatically on his Birthday, and how it may have sent him off the deep end. I can see Obummer appointing him especially because he has had many appearances before the Supreme CT, and may get a few Republican Senator Votes. Yikes!!!!!!!!

Why doesn’t someone ask Ted on his next talk show appearance how the “Imamammam “of the new mosque would feel about Ted inviting his gay friends to get married in the mosque????

Lets ask him AND that rascally Imam!

Multiply the Greek Orthodox experience by many many 10’s of thousands of Christian churches and schools that have been denied their “right” to build because of public comment. There has been no call for public comment in the case of the Victory Mosque, as far as I know.

It is not “emotionalism” that stands against the Victory Mosque, it is legitimate public interest. Legitimate, at least, in the way it is interpreted against Christian institutions.

More and more, their marriage is looking like it was of the Carville-Matalin variety. I thought the other day that Barbara must be spinning in her grave. Then I had the horrific thought that that poor woman, like others, HAS no “grave,” except the one that is on the verge of being desecrated.

I agree with you. I hate that they are building it there and I wish they wouldn’t, but I understand they have every right to do it. I also think they are slapping a giant target on their heads and wouldn’t be surprised if some loon blew the place up.

I lived in a Muslim country for a couple of years. At the post office, there is no such thing as waiting your turn in line. They just edge right in—right in front of you. It used to burn me up. By the time I finally got to the counter, I was absolutely fuming. Their business is SO much more important than yours, I guess.

Their traffic consists of pounding on the horn and every man for himself. There is no orderliness or procedure to it—it makes someone like me nuts.

I think it is called the Stockholm Syndrome:
The behavior of kidnap victims who, over time, become sympathetic to their captors. The name derives from a 1973 hostage incident in Stockholm, Sweden. At the end of six days of captivity in a bank, several kidnap victims actually resisted rescue attempts, and afterwards refused to testify against their captors.

Why is it disturbing? We live in a society that values property rights and freedom of religion. If they do something illegal, arrest them.

OUTRAGEOUS! Hey Ted, Barbara would understand.
It’s not a mosque- it’s a monument to Allah’s destruction of America. Built on soil that contains the incinerated remains of innocent Americans sacrificed to ALLAH.

Furthermore- Barbara is NOT with Allah.

RIP Barbara, beautiful brave smart woman - still remember you!
