I’m embarassed to admit it, but if I start reading The Exorcist, I can’t go to sleep until I finish it, because I have to be sure it still turns out all right.

The Day the Earth stood still was a memorable one for me.Could not afford TV, or Movies, so would seek over to Neighbors. Not even sure how old I was when I saw that, but any Hitchcock were nail biters.

When I was four years old, nothing seemed scarier to me than the scene in Snow White where the trees come alive and start clawing at her.

I saw Deliverance when I was about seventeen, and that's the only movie that ever gave me nightmares. The scene at the end where the hand comes up out of the lake and Jon Voigt wakes up in a night sweat scared me to death. I had recurring nightmares that I'd murdered someone and the police knew it but couldn't prove it.

I know I wasn't the only one that movie affected. Brian DePalma made an entire career ripping off the ending.

November 4th, 2008 Election Returns
Shudder ... I still break out in cold sweats thinking about.
A simply horrific movie.

Equally nightmarish sequels: January 16th, 2009 Inauguration. ... and others that are just too painful to mention.

(it was just a movie ... right?)

My mom was NOT happy that I’d seen the movie although I don’t remember having nightmares....was scared silly in the theater, though.

Love those old Vincent Price, Bela Lugosi, etc. movies now!!

I have that one on tape somewhere in a cardboard box around here. The novel was very good, too.
