This thread is oozing with political correctness. I find it amazing that Christians even think for a second that Muslims worship the same God as Christians.
I’m not saying he can’t fast but the media is clearly trying to mainstream Islam so we all can adjust. If Christians start believing we worship the same as Muslims they are in big trouble.

In America, you have the right to be wrong. Step away from the anger at Islam and substitute Jewish or Christian faith. This man has taken a stand on principle, and I salute his commitment to his faith.
It is a very conservative thing to respect a man of principle. I respect anyone who acts with integrity.

I in no way endorse or recommend Isalm... But I admire anyone who puts God before their riches, fame, fortune, or status, even if their view of God is skewed. I firmly believe that if those who call themselves Christian would take their faith as seriously as this player does, we would see a radically different world. And no, Im not talking about all Christians suddenly becoming legalistic and bound with a chain to The Law... but just that we take our following Christ seriously - particularly to love one another as He commanded, and sharing the truth of His love and perfect redemption with the lost and dying world.Very well put, and I wholeheartedly agree.

I have no problems with this.
I was stupid enough to play a high school football game on Yom Kippor when I was a freshman. I shouldn’t have done it. It was wrong for me.
Hank Greenberg and Sandy Koufax both refused to play on Jewish High Holy Days, and in fact, Koufax sat out game 1 of the World Series, that he was supposed to pitch.

So you have no problem with an aspect Sharia being brought into the NFL? Jews are not on a worldwide movement, looking to impose a set of barbaric religious laws on all. But Muslims are, so please do not compare this to a Jew.

Secondly, how very kind of you to give him permission to practice his religion in America, where freedom of religion isn't allowed!..... what... 1st amendment???... get out of here with that extremist right wing crap! The government only allows one religion.... No, nobody is allowed to differ on religion in America!! What do you think this is, a free country?? YOU MUST FOLLOW THE PARTY LINE COMRADE!!!!!! /s

But Muslims are, so please do not compare this to a Jew.Gee, he didn't demand that games not be played during ramadan. He simply stated that he's going to observe his religious obligations. Simple. This has NOTHING to do with this guy imposing his beliefs on anyone else, including sharia law. Be sure to let me know when he does that, and I'll agree with you at that point.

Just a guess...but I'm thinking the problem most Christians have with this scenario is that not only are their "demands" rarely met, they are usually both denied and ridiculed.
And, that they are so accustomed to that response that they no longer bother making "demands."
And, thusly, have become less tolerant of those that do.

This sort of self absorbed focus will really help the team. Is Brett Favre a Muslim too?

Post of the day!
Tim Tebow gets hammered daily for his unwavering faith yet this guy is praised. Unreal.
To: rintense
I suppose I'm setting myself up for a lightning strike here, but...if I were Brad Childress I would tell this player that NOTHING comes before my team and winning the Super Bowl.
And that he's just been traded to Detroit.

NOOOOOOO! Detroit doesn’t want him! Trade him to the Browns. Or Buffalo.

1st you accuse me falsely of saying something I didn't (giving permission?)
2nd you call my words right wing crap.
3rd If you think a guy who worships his thumb and fasts to it is also very religious and should be honored you must be nuts. In other words Allah is not God, therefore his worship and fasting to a made up entity will not be honored by me and I will post that on the “right wing” web site all day long. YOUR SUSPECT

He’d fit in great with Haynesworth in DC.

Lots of snake handling muzzie support on this thread.
I guess the murder and pedophilia is cool too as long as it is supporting their “religion”..

One demand leads to another, and it has already hurt team. Another door has been opened for Islam to advance.
To: Eaker
Amazing huh? No wonder Sharia is advancing across the West.
