Can you give me a little more detail on how exactly to do that?
First, take note of your operating system = OS. It should show when your computer boots up. Ultimately, you will need:
card
cable (probably attached to spkrs)
Spkrs
If its W2K or better, it will recognize any new cards physically installed (we haven’t gotten there yet) upon boot-up and find and install a driver.
Next, ask some of your friends if they have a dead computer they’d like to get rid of. You might get all your hardware (incl spkrs) right there. For basic audio, you can use cards out of a dead computer 10 years old. Any old POS will do. For some reason, I could not get on-board audio to work on my hp 2.4 GHz computer. I stole an audio card from a dead Dell that I picked out of the garbage. Plugged it in = worked.
If no friends have a dead computer (or if you have no friends) wander into a Salvation Army or equiv and at least get the speakers. Under $5. Try to make sure the spkrs have at least one knob on them (which means they are amplified) and that a wall-wart power supply is in the deal.
The other approach is to call a friend who knows someone who has a kid who knows about computers and assign the kid the ENTIRE TASK of finding the dead PC and spkrs and installing the audio card for $20. The kid will know someone with a dead PC and be able to pull the audio card out in mere minutes.
It may not be for you, but the entire task is really trivial for anyone who deals with computers. It would be easier to find such a person, perhaps from your church group or whatever, and pay them a few bucks to get this task done. Nobody should need to buy anything new to make this happen, and I would bet that 60% of people have a dead PC in their garage that the parts could come from.

Just watched a little bit of it—Maxine and the guy following. Does any one of them mention the high out of wedlock birthrate in the black community? I guess it’s those plantation owners sneaking in at night and impregnating their women.

Their complaining about the lack of Parking for all of their Escalades. Maxine Waters Limo had to circle the parking lot 3 times. Blacks just can’t seem to catch a break these days.

Thanks. I’ve tried downloading audio drivers with no sucess. They say that’s what my problem is.

Well that settles it. From now on when someone from the government asks me my race I’m telling them I’m black!
Isn’t it considered insane to do the same thing over and over and over again expecting a different outcome? Until the black community starts telling the black community that their ideas and culture is not working nothing will ever change. They’ve been voting for the Democrats since forever and they are still in the same old boat. How long does it take to wake up and make a change?
You may have to go to “control panel” and “remove hardware”. Shut down, remove the card, then power up and have the computer boot w/o the card. Turn off, re-install the card, see if the computer recognizes it, see if it will install a suitable driver or if it will go find one on the net. Audio cards are pretty dumb, but they can certainly be stubborn when they don’t want to work.
I have seen audio “cards” (this happened on my hp) cease to operate upon downloading an update from Microsoft. (It had on-board, eg; integrated audio) 2 updates later, it started to work again. But in the meantime, I had done what I previously suggested to you: Stole a cruddy old audio card from a junker PC (and it was a REALLY old one) and threw it into the hp. Worked. That’s what I still use. Although I DO know how to mess with this stuff, I get little joy from it, and once I get something working, I am loathe to mess with it. The thrift store route is still good for some cheapo speakers, though, if you don’t have those. I have also seen them for sale at Big Lots or other “freight salvage” type stores for silly cheap, under $5 brand new.

They are pissed because the senate failed to approve the 5 billion Pigsford shakedown funds yesterday. They are trying to blame the republicans, but every single republican apparently approves of it(because they are spineless cowards). They just wanted it paid for. To my knowledge none of them had the courage to stand up and say the whole thing was rift with fraud and abuse.
