In her book, Governor Palin said the reason she gave that answer about what she reads is that Katie had already pissed her off with those stupid gotcha questions and she had gotten her back up by then and didn’t want to answer anymore stupid questions. She said she shouldn’t have let Katie get to her but she was set up by one of the staff that the McCain camp had furnished for her. It was supposed to have been a 30 minute interview and it wound up to be several hours.
That would be one Nicolle Wallace---who was not only imposed on Sarah by Schmidt to serve as her "chief of staff," but also a close pal and former employee of Couric.
