The following video was sent to C4Ps tips account.
As you can see, the video shows Katie Couric preparing to go on the air on the day John McCain announced Governor Palin as his running mate. It shows some tantalizing hints of Courics attitude toward the Governor--when talking about first Trig, then Track, Couric says where the hell do they get these [names]?... At that point the producer running the sound board shut off the sound because he or she didnt want to have Courics disdainful and contemptuous view of Governor Palins children captured on even an internal CBS tape that they never expected would see the light of day. You can tell this by the OMG! reaction of the CBS news employees who were in the control room as Couric said that about the Governors kids. This video also shows Couric taking a shot at female basketball players and at Governor Palins hometown, one of the fastest growing areas in the country, and the fifth largest city in Alaska.
(snip)
We know from the JournoList archives that the national press viewed Governor Palin as a threat to their anointed candidate whom they sought to elect with ferocity and determination. We dont even need to see Courics snarky comment about Governor Palins children to know that CBS News and Couric were not interested in covering who Sarah Palin was or what her qualifications were, but rather in caricaturing her to influence the election in favor of their favored candidate.

Naaaah. This thread needed to be posted.
Your own post is a total joke though.
There! Fixed it!
Interesting to see how bigoted and narrow minded Katie is.
I've been listening to the "History of Rome" podcast, and back then just about every guy was named Gaius, Germanicus, or Octavius. Name trends come and go over time. Get use to it, Katie!
Please, curb your dog.
This from a woman who showed her a-hole on national TV.
I dislike Couric but to say she made fun of female BB players of Wasilla, AK is simply not true.
She just said it in the video.....Duh!!
The article didn't say she made fun of female Wasilla HS basketball players. The article said she took a shot at female basketball players.
Couric's exact words were: "You can be feminine and still play basketball, right Jerry?"
People can judge for themselves what was going on between Couric and "Jerry" with that remark.
"I'm glad you took out the feminine side because you can be feminine and play basketball, right Jerry?"
Even worse IMO, she's mocking female athletes.
Now that there is stop-a-train ugly.
“I’m glad you took out the feminine side because you can be feminine and play basketball, right Jerry?”...Duh!!

I bet she had an easy time spelling that in kindergarten. < /sarc>

I should have done “preview” before posting. I meant to say female bb “OR” not “OF” Wasilla, AK. I did hear her make the remark about the female BB players but her tone didn’t sound sneering or anything. I guess we just have a difference in how we heard the remark. It just seemed a remark made in passing to me.
The headline title starts with “Explosive”. There is nothing “explosive” about this. It would only be explosive if it was shown by the MSM to the masses. We here at FR watching this clip doesn’t make it explosive and its just what we all know about the supposed unbiased media.
I agree with you. Just imagine if Couric had said those things about the names of OBAMA’S kids!!! She’d have been fired long ago.
This could be serious if Sarah runs in 2012 and all the Pedobaptists think that Sarah hates them.
I agree. Couric is despicable as a newsperson, but this is pretty mild and harmless.
Who didn’t giggle when they first heard the names of Palin’s children? Who wouldn’t have chuckled at first hearing of the mooseburgers and that Palin’s parents had been caribou hunting when she was chosen?
