No thank you... I am under no illusion of china being a friend to the United States of America.

I’ll put my posts and my posting history on FR up against yours any day... and I have nothing but disdain for my enemies... and the chicoms have and will continue to be my enemy.

Who is a friend of the US, then?

If you wish to remain ignorant of the facts, that’s your choice...

China will regain it’s position as one of the world’s dominant nations. It has little to do with Christianity and much to do with sound development policies and a strong work ethic. Things that Americans once had and now is sorely lacking.

Denying the chicoms have been and will continue to be enemies of the US makes you ignorant and openly so. YOU do NOT get to make up your facts... and the facts back my assertion... not yours.

Let’s see...

1. I didn’t claim they are not our enemies. Strike One.

2. I didn’t make up any facts, I posted them. Strike Two.

3. You never posted a single fact. Strike Three.

You’re out. Being driven by hate and emotion is a liberal thing, you should think about the conservative approach of reason and logic. It would work better for you...

“Give it a shot, you might find you like a country that actually allows - and encourages - capitalism.”

Why in the hell would I like a country that is my sworn enemy... capitalism may be their financial system.. albeit it much more controlled than we used to have in the USA... but their social and governmental system is one of totalitarianism and communism and it is run by an elite ruling class. Why is it today, when FReepers disagree on something like this... there has to be a flame war?

I never disputed the first part of your post... you attacked me and I posted in return.

I am not out... I am standing tall and standing by my statements on china... you on the other hand... have to treat me like chris matthews treats his guests when they disagree with him... and attack me personally, attack my philosophy and ideology and demonize and marginalize my very existence on this board... none of which I have done to you.

I think anyone reading these exchanges can clearly see who is a hate-filled emotion driven pro china activist. My friends here... all the way to the top... know of my Conservative persona. I also donate a lot of money to FR ($100.00 to every donation drive) and have since I joined. I do this to keep FR alive and on the net and I have been making donations directly to Conservative candidates since 2007. I did give money to Sarah Palin and what's his name... voted for her and mcnasty too.. I went to Florida in 2000 and fought on the front lines. A liberal does not do those things.

Their economy is far less under government control at this point then our own.

Just compare the Chinese economy with the American one:

1. They have lower taxes across the board.

2. They have way less regulations when it comes to doing business, both in terms of starting and expanding.

3. Government ownership of banks, and major utilities are about the same as in the U.S, government ownership of other sectors such as auto-manufacturing and Healthcare are far less than what the U.S government has done.

Don’t worry with logic or facts with LLS... Those who talk about their own accomplishments in place of actually relevant information are running purely on emotion.

Emotion and “feeeeeeeelings” are the domain of the liberal mindset. He may think he’s conservative, and he may act conservative, but he has no conservative position...

I hold a different opinion of china than you do... and you can't seem to accept that fact without treating me as you would some liberal troll... which I am not. I KNOW the truth about china... I have seen evidence of their continuous cyber attacks on our Military... and their constant harassment of our Military when they have opportunity. They are responsible for a recent act of war on behalf of their puppet state of the norks... their help to iran is killing US soldiers and their technology is being used against us in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have friends that personally captured chicom equipment in those theaters and also chicom refurb kits for old Stinger missiles. I do not think ill of you nor do I feel compelled to attack you because we see this differently. I accept that you hold different views on this. I think you are wrong but... one of us is emotionally attacking the other while one of us posts straight facts and opinion.

Look, it’s quite simple:

You make claims with no facts to back them up. That’s what liberals do.

You don’t look at the reality of the situation, which has been stated by several: China is, in actuality, less communist today than the US.

That’s a slam on the US, not a praise of China. We’ve lost our way big time, and railing against the “ChiComs” and such as evil is simply wrong. They’re beating others right now because they pay attention to what is important: economics.

I know Chinese military equipment is used against US soldiers. So is French, German, Russian, and UK equipment as well - are all those countries our enemies as a result? Heck, captured US weapons are used against our troops - are we our own enemy?

Stop, breathe a bit, and then look at it objectively - just the facts. You’ll see I’m right, as are the others on this thread telling you we’re getting our lunch taken away because we (conservatives) are getting wrapped up in emotion and nationalism. We’re losing sight of what’s important.

I spent 4 years in Europe. Didn’t leave anything behind. No need to go back.

Overall, I agree with those who are debating you on this thread.

However, I will give you this: There is a natural survival animal instict in many of us. Right or wrong, you are exhibiting it.

Whether China is a democracy or not, whether they are capitalistic or not, one thing is quite clear. If China stays on the current road she is on, her economic output will surpass that of the US. And with four times the population, the potential is quite significant.

In modern times (last few hundred years), nations seldom invade another simply because another nation is rising. However, in ancient times, it occured all the time. And you want to do everything you can to prevent China's rise. And I'm going to assume that would mean you would support an all out assult on China before its too late.

Listen to the arguments of your critics. Because, really, China is more capitalistic than before, and in many ways, the government is having less and less control over its people every year. Sure, not yet a full fledge democracy, but getting better. And potentially, someday, a full fledge democracy. Anyone, even the harshest critic, can see that. People don't wear Mao suits anymore in China.

So, in the end, what motivates you is the belief in American Exceptionalism, as you have stated. And its difficult to propagate that when another nations across the Pacific could potentially someday have an economic output four times that of US. And many of those with your belief want to put a stop to it, even if China rises via legitimate means.

Ya gotta admit, that's what motivates you. Or, maybe you already admitted and are insisting you have nothing to be ashamed of :)

But really, China is more capitalistic and people have greater freedom of choice than ever before. Even if those choices are still not where they should be (i.e., like the US), but they are heading in the right direction.

In the end, the right thing to do, is to allow China to develop as a nation (even if it means creating an economic giant). And to maintain healthy arms treaty with China, i.e., ensuring that the balance never tilt appreciably in her favor with the rest of the world.
