In the recent debates Jim Deakin has been holding himself up as some paragon of fiscal and financial virtue that is above reproach and attacking JD Hayworth, all the while he has been unable to pay his mortgage for at least the last several months. There have been some legitimate concerns that Deakin is expecting some pay off at a later date from McCain for staying in the race and splitting the conservative vote. This adds credence to these concerns. What rational person would take the time to run for the US Senate while they can not even pay their most basic household expenses?
Jim Deakin should drop out of the race, endorse the Tea Party favorite, JD Hayworth, and go back to work solving his personal problems. I don't think this should prevent Deakin's future political endeavors, but the timing of this is awful and and puts a cloud over Deakin's continued candidacy.

This is amazing news. I thought he was this big business executive who was going to fix all the finanacial problems in Washington. Ah well, I guess it’s just JD and McCain. The illegal lobby is already planning on McCain getting back in and then come back over onto their side.

Perhaps Deakin was just another McCain style vote splitter plant ala Thompson or Huckabee.

Obviously, Deakin isn’t being funded by McCain or his house wouldn’t be foreclosed on, but he is a problem.
For the Michigan governor’s race, we have three conservatives seeking the GOP nomination. My greatest fear is that the conservatives will split the vote and the RINO (Snyder) will win with 25% of the vote.
