I don’t buy the construct - comparing the next American civil war to third world civil wars that have essentially shaken out based on race and tribal identity (which have existed for hundreds if not thousands of years). This is a young nation of ideas and ideals, our first civil war was sparked and fought over ideas and I would expect any subsequent civil war to be fought over ideas as well.

Because they will be attacking at the margins of the rural/white/safe zones. You will not have a choice.

Interesting article and analysis. I do disagree on one facet. Were I in a position to plan, staff and implement a plan for CW2 I would plan on nuking the cities first. I don't like the concept of a protracted guerrilla war or even an Bosnia type scenario. I want an asymmetric war; if you are playing fair you aren't playing to win. It would be be enormous task to clear the vermin out of one city at a time fighting an Iraq type scenario.

The herding cats rule would come into play and you could never get enough to go along with a proactive strike to reduce the other side to an ineffective level.

So I am just doing my own thing. Intel, recon and supplies along with several scenarios for the different possibilities.

I have been watching the show “Falling Skies”. They had a group of criminals that were taking advantage of the situation for their own gain, however, they still hunted and killed the aliens. In our CW2 scenario we will not have aliens as a common enemy. Maybe we can reshape public opinion to make the goobermint out to be the “aliens”.

If the US is out of the fight, there would be little to keep Russia from expanding down into the Middle East or retaking Ukraine, plus China would probably be eyeing some of it’s neighbors, like the Spratley Islands.

Parts of Southern California are very “blue”. There is currently another secession attempt for the more conservative counties in SoCal. It won’t succeed, but it makes a point.
