At last count, Governor Palin has 1,987,535 friends on Facebook. Based on the rate of increase, she should hit the magic number of 2 million on or about Friday. As Ian noted in a post on Sunday, C4P is planning a money bomb to celebrate the milestone (see banner above).
The mid-term election is 14 weeks from today...that's 98 days. We can't assume that Obama's unpopularity alone will be enough impetus for Republicans to take back Congress. Most (though not all) beltway Republicans seem to believe this to be the case and are therefore reluctant to offer any alternatives. This timid strategy can only work up to a point, and if we follow such a strategy, Republican victories will be smaller than they could be, and we will have squandered a golden opportunity for a truly historic victory.
Governor Palin offers an alternative strategy. One based on action, not inaction. One based on bold colors, not pale pastels. She believes, to use a sports analogy, that a prevent defense is not the way to score a resounding victory, but rather to make it much closer or worse. She believes that we need to engage the Obama-Pelosi-Reid agenda head-on, not sit on the sidelines and hope everything works out. Such a proactive approach takes money.
The more money SarahPac raises, the more influence Governor Palin will have in ensuring that the left-wing agenda dies this fall. At the C4P meetup, Governor Palin told us that she has our backs. Let's show her we have hers. We can never assume others will carry the water for us. That's what liberals do. We need to control our own destiny, take the bull by the horns, and take our country back!
