Mark Kirk: I Support Elena Kagan's Nomination For SCOTUS

Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL), the GOP's nominee for the Illinois Senate seat formerly held by President Obama, has now stated his support for the Supreme Court nomination of Elena Kagan, and that he would vote to confirm her if he were in the Senate right now. The move is seemingly a part of Kirk's effort to appeal to voters in the center, having worked hard to present himself as a moderate and independent-minded Republican.

"With regard to Solicitor General Kagan, I would support her nomination. Ms. Kagan appears to be modest and thoughtful not because she expected this nomination but because she is modest and thoughtful," Kirk said in a statement. "Under the Constitution, only the President can make this nomination and Solicitor General Kagan is one of the more careful nominees he could have picked."

Totally predictable.

He’d rather cater to some Dems who may not be able to hold their noses and vote for Alexi, especially since he can’t vote anyhow.

After telling a Marine friend about Kirk’s “mistake” re: reporting his unit’s citation as a personal award, he said, “Those kinds of ‘mistakes’ happen because the person is an idiot or a liar; you make the call. Seeing as he’s an Illinois politician, he obviously has a tradition to carry on.”

Kirk is our version of Massachusetts’ Brown.

It’s either him or it’s the Democrat, Giannoulias, who worked in the administration of Broadway Bank, the special back with 0bama ties that was recently taken over by the FDIC.

It’s a choice of mostly cr@p versus total cr@p. It’s cr@p either way, but Kirk will be incrementally better than Burris, regardless.

Cr@p.

The woman can “appear” any way she wants. Liberal candidates have already shown that they will lie, Lie, LIE in order to win confirmation. Once on the SCOTUS, they’ll rule entirely opposite of what they said during the hearings.

having worked hard to present himself as a moderate and independent-minded Republican.

"Independent-minded" is a euphemism for being out of your mind as in, "His brain was so independent it left him. to go live in la-la land."

This RINO might as well appeal to the left for votes. He sure isn’t going to clean up with conservatives.

Typical loser moron wimp shoot-yourself-in-thefoot-with-both-barrels pub.

This guy probably could have beaten Giannoulias because of G’s bank problems, but nooooooooo............. He had to go and gild his military background, which some were willing to forgive. Those willing to forgive are now being asked to suck it up and vote for him even though he’s telling us, through his support for Kagan, that he’s just another Lindsay Graham suck-up RINO POS uselss boil on the ass of America.

Well, I think he just lost the race, so there’s no chance of getting the Senate now - not with this clown on the ticket.

So, Mark Kirk wants to be Democrat-lite? I don’t think that Mark Kirk or Elena Kagan should be drawing taxpayers dollars while ignoring the constitution...
