Ford friend and I having been talking about Mulally's leadership potential for quite along time, (look @ my tagline).
It seems others are noting his potential as well.
America is urning for a leader that maybe Reaganesque, is Mually it? Palin / Mulally is a win-win IMHO. Some have noted here it should be the other-way around.
But if it became a reality, he is quite the everyday hero in Michigan. He cant go to the 7-11 for a coffee without someone asking for his Autograph. IMHO by extension he would take MI, OH and IN given their automotive presence. An out of the box choice and knows how to keep cost in line. What is their not to like....

He may be a fine CEO, but he’s a politically correct weasel. I worked for him.

Pardon the post to self should have gone in the lower box on the original post. I am not fond of the China presence in fact I can’t stand it, but I understand how and why they do it.

He will get rich where he is. Why on earth would he want to be President? It would be a big mistake for him.

We do not need to elect a President who is going to ship jobs to COMMUNIST China....no hero here.
A real “hero” would be opening an auto plant in the USA....not COMMUNIST China. Made In China does not pay your bills, taxes, or raise your children

President of Dearbornistan, maybe. Thanks, Henry Ford, and your anti-semitism.

The man needs to stay as CEO. Ford still has a lot of challenges ahead and they, despite there recent success, still face a very tough future.
Knuckleheads out there need to realize that success in one endeavor doesn't assure success in others. Business is very different from politics. Nobody really knows the politics of this man. Need I remind the posters that charisma doesn't translate into substance. You can't order people around in politics as easily as you can business. It's just a different world. People who are trying to draft him are just foolish people. They aren't a lot brighter than the fools who wanted Oprah Winfrey to run 5 or 6 years ago. Note that this is a person of far greater ability and intelligence than Oprah but the principals remain the same.

Is there all that much difference in China vs. Michigan?
To: Crim
No, F our government who created an economic environment where Ford can have the cars built in China and shipped here for retail sale cheaper than building them here in the first place. Not much different than crossing the state line to save a few bucks on taxes. Ford wants to build vehicles that Americans can actually afford to buy.

Ford just announced they were going to build a new plant in China to the tune of 300 million bucks...The new plant is for the Chinese market, and is really a joint venture with Jiangling Motors (of which Ford owns 30 percent).

You want to buy chi-com cars ...go right ahead...but dont blame the govt...
There will ALWAYS be some slob who will work for two bucks a day...so unless you are willing to work for two bucks a day...you might want to re-think that position a bit..
A global economy requires a global standard of living.....looked around the globe lately?
The chi-coms wont have to conquer what they can BUY...
Does ford have a “right” to build in china?...sure they do...and I have a right to call them commie lovers too...
If that bothers you...to frickin bad..

Yeah,
Let’s try to elect someone that has contributed to the campaigns of the likes of John Dingell and Maria Cantwell.
Or not.

Anything that puts a UAW parasite out of work doesn't bother me at all.
