Denver Post reporting: Former Congressman Tom Tancredo is in the race for Colorado governor, he said this morning.

“I will officially announce at noon that I will seek the nomination of the constitution party,” Tancredo told The Denver Post.

The Littleton Republican must file some papers with the Colorado Secretary of State and register as a member of the American Constitution Party, but then “he’s ready to go,” raising money, disclosing his platform and launching a website that is already put together.

Both GOP candidates screwed up and are way behind the Dim, Hickenlooper.

You didn't give us the numbers, what are they?

Hickenlooper, Schickelgruber... its all the same...

Not quite. John Hickenlooper's cousin Bourke B. Hickenlooper (R-Iowa) was elected to the US Senate in 1944 and soon joined a coalition of hard-core conservative Republicans who resisted New Dealism and internationalist schemes and strongly opposed Communism during the 1940's and 1950's. The group included Bill Knowland (R-Calif.), Styles Bridges (R-NH), Joseph R. McCarthy (R-Wisc.), George Malone (R-Nev.), Kenneth Wherry (R-Neb.), William E. Jenner (R-Ind.), Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.) and two Ohioans, Robert A. Taft and John Bricker. Maverick Democrat Pat McCarran (D-Nev.) may also be said to be part of this group.

Hickenlooper left the Senate in 1969, long after the others in this group had departed--although Goldwater returned to the body that year.

Thanks for the clarification. I didn’t know they were related. Too bad John H. didn’t spend more time with his cousin...

a stupid move. welcome to the californication of a once great state ruled by hickenlooper and his far left sanctuary state polices. he cares as much contempt for colorado citizens as zero does for american citizens.

That's great history. Had forgotten about Knowland, there was a time when California was the bastion of American Right Wing conservatism as eventually exemplified by Reagan.

The Real Republicans I guess we could call them. Obviously, Cuz Hickenlooper in Denver is a baby boomer parroting all the boomer shibboleths, in contravention to the parent's generation.

Sort of defines modern Democrats: immature Boomer brats.

...There was a time when California was the bastion of American Right Wing conservatism as eventually exemplified by Reagan.

Indeed, there was. During the 1960's and 1970's, California, most notably its southern region, was a hotbed of conservatism. Reps. Glen Lipscomb, James Utt, and John Rousselot, all from Southern California, were among the most conservative members of Congress in the 1960's, and from the mid-'70's to the mid-90's, fiery "B-1 Bob" Dornan represented various Southern California constituencies in the House.

In the 1960's, the state's public schools were led by Dr. Max Rafferty, a solid conservative who served as Superintendent of Public Instruction from 1963 to 1971.

The last conservative to win a major statewide office was George Deukmejian, who served as governor from 1983 to 1991.

then see this link on how he has upset the tea partiers.

The Denver Post published a story about some "leaders" not being happy. That means absolutely nothing, as should be obvious.

I’d vote for Tancredo LONG before even considering the
RINOS Dick Wadhams is promoting.

He hasn’t ticked off this Tea Partier.
Tom Tancredo will have my money, time and support.

Dick Wadhams is promoting two RINOS, and I’m sick and tired of RINOS.
