Obama’s going to Spain in September. 11 August-9 September: Ramadan.

The Muslim army of Tarik ibn Ziyad landed in Spring 711 at The Pillars of Hercules, which we know today as Gibraltar. The name ‘Gilbraltar’ is a variation of the Arabic name that was then given to the place: Jebel ut Tarik, or Tarik’s Hill!

The Visigothic Christian King Rodrigo fought the Muslim army at the Guadalete river on July 19, 711, he lost as the traitor Count Julian withheld his troops at a critical juncture and during negotiations other traitorous troops captured Rodrigo. His severed head was stuck on a pole and paraded before his troops, it was then sent to the Grand Mosque in Damascus. It is the Grand Mosque of Damascus that was the model for the Grand Mosque of Cordoba.

Gibraltar and the Guadalete river are both only a few miles from Marabella.
