(1) it's a conceivable scenario. So is virtually anything the himan mind can imagine. We do not take imagined scenarios and publish it as factual news.

(2) virtual silence from the mainstream media would be expected. Very wrong. 99% of the "media blackout" of stories such as this are BS. I was a TV reporter / anchor for more than 30 years. Here is just a tiny representative handful of the countless huge stories the mainstream media conveniently ‘overlooked’ in 2009 and 2010. Are you prepared to claim that they represent only one percent of the major stories that erupt in about a year’s time? I am prepared to say that this representative sample of ‘ignored stories’ is just the tip of a gigantic political censorship iceberg.

• Hackers broke into the servers at a prominent British climate research center and leaked years worth of e-mails onto the internet, producing incontrovertible evidence of collusion among ‘climate change’ scientists to avoid publishing mountains of anti-global warming evidence and to demonize skeptics. Even though the head of the Climatic Research Unit at Britain's East Anglia University stepped down as a result of the findings, the mainstream media ignored the story until it was no longer possible to do so – after the resignation of some of those involved.

• Green Jobs adviser Van Jones resigned from his post in late 2009 after many weeks of pressure exerted by caring Americans over his radical past. A self-proclaimed Marxist and anarchist, Jones suggested, among other abominations, that the U.S. government was involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The New York Times and Washington Post (which most certainly qualify under the heading of ‘mainstream media’) ignored the story until Jones' resignation, many weeks after the story came to light in non-mainstream sources.

• George Mason University released a study last December that revealed that democrat voting districts have received nearly twice as much stimulus money as republican districts ($439 million per district vs. $232 per district) -- and the stimulus money has been awarded without regard to how badly an area was suffering from job losses or income problems. The mainstream media have been mute on the subject.

• Last summer, amateur filmmakers James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles, posing as a pimp and a prostitute, went undercover to several of the offices of the ‘community organizing’ group ACORN. They secretly videotaped ACORN employees instructing them in how to commit tax fraud and obtain illegitmate benefits for more than a dozen minor girls from El Salvador whom O’Keefe and Hannah claimed they wanted to bring into this country illegally to work as child prostitutes. The mainstream media ignored the growing scandal as long as they could, even as federal agencies began severing their ties with ACORN and (the few remaining) vigilant members of Congress were demanding an investigation.

• It was discovered that back in the 1970s in science textbooks that he published, John Holden, President Obama's ‘science czar’, floated a number of lethal policies to shrink the human population -- including compulsory abortions and other Draconian measures. The mainstream media, to this day, haven’t touched the story.

• Obama’s nominee for chair of the National Intelligence Council, Chas Freeman, had major conflicts of interest with the Saudi and Chinese governments as a private citizen. He referred to Tibetan Buddhist protests against the communist government in China as a ‘race riot’, and claimed China had been ‘overly cautious’ in killing hundreds of protesters in the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989. Freeman also terms Israelis as Jewish ‘colonists’ in Israel. While Freeman’s gross ‘indiscretions’ were being discussed all over the net, and in the halls of Congress, the mainstream media were nowhere to be found. Only after Freeman withdrew himself from consideration for the post did the New York Times decide to write a post-mortem.

• President Obama’s proposed ban on Gulf drilling will result in the relocation of the majority of the rigs and barges from the Gulf to other areas of the world. The country that stands to benefit the most from this policy is Brazil. And the Brazilian company that stands to make a killing as it drills in even deeper waters, with former Gulf equipment, is Petrobras. The holder of the largest interest in Petrobras is George Soros. Where are the mainstream media? -- (*crickets*)

The corruption in this administration, and in the halls of Congress, is abominable. Crimes occur in Washington every day the magnitude of which make the Watergate scandal look like a walk in the park. And yet the mainstream media choose to look the other way, because the realization of a political agenda sits much higher on their list of priorities than informing the American citizens about what is really going on in the halls of government.

If the average American were made aware of just a handful of these stories that wreak of vile corruption – and the hundreds of others that do not make it into our daily ‘news reports’ each year -- the political climate in this country would change so dramatically that the opportunity to restore America to her former greatness would seem inevitable, rather than the dying ember it appears to be today.

There were conflicting reports coming out of Loredo ‘authorities’...they should have all FLAT denied it.
That said, too much time has passed. If I lived within 50 miles of the place, I’d be there to find out. We should have had more confirmation from locals by now.

I do suspect that this story will turn out to have been fabricated. My debate with MindBender is beyond the strict facts (or lack of them) of this story -- but has more to do with his apparent belief that the media don't really pick and choose what they will relay to the American people.

That opportunity approaches even now, the question
remains will we be prepared to take the actions necessary to curtail this usurpation from happening again? Will what ever administration we put in place investigate and punish
those who have corrupted and abused our system of government?

These are criminal actions taken against the people, and
if unpunished, will only result in continued attempts
at socialist control. Without some form of justice, all our desire for a just government will disappear at the next liberal socialist administration that gets control.
If they were to come to power again, they will take
steps to ensure their complete dominance.

Just as Obama and his administration learned from the
failed Clinton attempt and resulting lack of any consequences for his criminal acts, Obama has managed to push debilitating policies that will constrain freedom and liberty, a truly ruthless regime will not allow an opposition to restrain their drive for total government.

As is usually the case, dear Friend, your optimism far exceeds mine. I pray every day that your (and others’) outlook is justified, and that I am simply looking at my beloved republic from an unnecessarily dark perspective.

As I see it, America is now infected with an apathy, self-indulgence and sloth that represent the core reason for our impending fall. Yes, there are courageous and vigilant pockets of citizens ... 'tea party' organizers and faithfuls among them ... who remember the vision and sacrifice of, and stern and heartfelt warnings issued by, our Founders ... and who revere the American Constitution as the most magnificent blueprint for governance ever conceived by the mind of man.

But such patriots find themselves in an ever-decreasing minority. America's 'leadership' in Washington, the mainstream media, institutions of 'higher learning', and the ever more powerful 'entertainment industry' now hold the reins of public opinion with an iron-fisted grip. All four of those powerful opinion-makers for more than six decades have been systematically infiltrated by left-leaning ideologues bent on 'transforming' our Founders' vision into something frighteningly grotesque and diabolical: the implementation of an ideology that considers individual human liberty ... and all of the belief in 'right' and 'wrong', progress, productivity and sense of personal responsibility that that precious commodity engenders ... to be its most threatening enemy.

It is a mass ignorance of our noble roots, combined with a laziness and unwillingness to consider them at all, that has allowed evil men to gain, and scheme to retain in perpetuity, the upper hand. And the U.S. Constitution, and the concept (and reality) of individual liberty, have found themselves premeditatedly murdered in the process.

The pockets of citizens who actually see the emperor without his clothes have now begun to feel a kinship with that courageous young Chinese student who attempted to face-down a military tank in Tiananmen Square. The tanks are indeed mobilizing. They have become arrogant with power and will no longer be denied the completion of their assignment ... and the majority of the citizenry is too busy watching reality TV to recognize and acknowledge their movement. President Obama's popularity remains consistently in the neighborhood of 50%, in spite of mountains of liberty-loathing, criminally unconstitutional pronouncements and policymaking. And our open borders, rampant voter fraud, and the registering of questionable (at best) people who have no business voting in a free republic, are crafted to ensure that a constitutional conservative will never again occupy the White House.

For the first time in America's history, the mass 'ignorance is bliss' philosophy embraced by the American populace, as well as the massive, historically unprecedented unconstitutional power grab being perpetrated by Washington, can no longer be turned back. Educational indoctrination is irreversible; election results will increasingly find themselves dictated by groups such as ACORN and SEIU; as taxes and bureaucratic regulations on small businesses increase, more and more American jobs will be government jobs and fewer and fewer will be in the private sector; and as an increasing number of Americans find themselves standing in unemployment lines for much more than a year (while our 'altruistic leadership' increases the unemployment compensation timeline), America will become an entirely socialist state, with the citizenry completely dependent on government 'largesse' and bureaucratic dictate for their very existence. Not only has our current 'leaderhip' amassed massive unconstitutional power, but they intend to stack the deck so that that power is now omnipotent and irreversible.

What is more evil than men conspiring, in smoke-filled rooms, to serve as mini-gods, and couching in pious, altruistic words a gargantuan crusade to seat themselves as a ruling elite and render their countrymen subservient to their rulings?

Answer: A populace whose heritage and forebears were noble beyond anything ever before experienced by mankind, and yet who have chosen to passively allow the success of the above.

God bless all American patriots! Receive your peace of mind from the knowledge that there will indeed be a final judgment, and the Judge who sits in that seat of authority knows the real content of every man’s heart.

As I posted previously, you can’t be south of Laredo and NW of IH35. Map reading 101 would tell anyone that. At least that part of it is a hoax.
