They are no more or less informed than the people in SC who send us DeMint and Graham. Or those in Iowa who give us Grasley And Harkin. Politicians lie and many people are deceived. Nothing much more than that.

Granted, it’s a problem in other states. But it seems to me that WV, with its collection of pretty ignorant folks, is pretty consistent in sending Democrat senators to Washington.

At least Graham is on the rolls as a Republican and counts for majority purposes.

But I have especial reference to Alabama, also a state with people of limited education, which nevertheless has the good sense to send two conservative and effective Republican senators and a large collection of conservative Republican congressmen. Even the few Democrats they send appear to be conservative.
