OK, so what's going on here? Why would the New York Post print a story stating as a fact that Sarah Palin's daughter was pitching a TV show without bothering to get confirmation from any of the alleged stars of such a show? They certainly must have trusted their sources. And who would those sources be?
One online commenter said of their reunion, "When you have no way to come up with $1,700 a month in child support . . . and there aren't any other jobs out there . . . options are limited."
Hmmm. "One online commenter"? Better make that one anonymous commenter at a notorious anti-Palin blog:

I'm reproducing the screen-capture of that comment because I don't want to link the blog -- which is the same blog that pushed the "Palin divorce" hoax in August 2009!
Yes, that's right. A mere anonymous commenter at the "Immoral Minority" blog (operated by a disgraced former kindergarten teacher) qualifies as an authoritative source for the New York Post. How so? Apparently, after posting that blog comment, the commenter was quoted at the Gawker gossip site last week.
As I remarked last week, some reporters seem to have added a special clause to their ethical code for all stories relating to Sarah Palin: Any "source" is acceptable, so long as the source is anti-Palin.

One would think they would have learned from the last Palin-is-doing-a-reality-show hoax, but one needs to consider the problem.
PDS!
Don’t feel bad, a lot of people got that information FROM multiple posts on FR.
I’m a little dissappointed at how our side has been so much more willing to believe anything they read these days.
Maybe it has always been this way. But i started noticing it during the 2008 election season, when all the people supporting different candidates were happy to spread any crazy story they could pick up about other candidates.
You’d think after all the “Trig isn’t Palin’s kid” stories that we’d know better, but there isn’t always a lot of critical thinking here.
Just look at all the money-blogs posted as news/activism, or all the stories about the BP well collapsing into a worldwide methane explosion.
But only because Palin endorsed McCain. Before that nobody could say anything bad about Palin here without a threat of banishment.
Now she’s fair game for any rumor or innuendo that can be dredged up about her.
It’s remarkable how an unsubstantiated rumor that appears on a web site can somehow get passed along as news in fairly mainstream media outlets.
I suppose it is true that a lie can go around the world before the truth even wakes up in the morning.
The fact is, the dominant media and the folks that are negative about Sarah Palin will jump at the chance to tear her down, and the facts and truth just aren’t important.
I know some folks come down hard on young Bristol Palin. She seems to be a fairly average young woman of her age and experience - she has a disconnect between reality and her self image. But that is unremarkable. What is remarkable is that she is the daughter, and single mom, of a conservative leader. She seems to be maturing and I wish the best for her and her child. If only those who are negative about the Palins would show some class and restraint.
amen.....amen
You aren’t the only one. Freepers are willing to dismiss as untruthful much of the news media’s stories and yet jump on other stories as gospel.
But didn’t TMZ have the story first and quote unnamed entertainment industry sources to whom it was being pitched?
There are some folks that deserve to be face down eating gravel in a parking lot somewhere.
Every story that may be spun as negative about Palin, they post it with a perverted sense of glee. And then they promote somebody like Duncan Hunter or Newt “cheat on his wife while she is dying of cancer” Gingrich. It is disgusting.
Yep.....they constantly trash Sarah as not being Christian enough, and not taking care of her family but then say s that Newt is the guy or something........yep right on the mark,
“MOST people here on FR wanted it to be true.”
.
No, just a handful of dirtbags.
.
“There were some people here on FR who wanted it to be true.”
And where are they now? Searching the internet for the next anti-Palin bogus story to post on FR.
What does the engagement of her daughter have to do with Sarah Palin running for president? If a conservative had written anything similar in reference to the Obama children, he would be referred to as a bigot, a racist or, heaven forbid, a tea party activist.
There were some people here on FR who wanted it to be true.
And you can see who exactly they are right here on this thread, starting with the nororious “pissant” who seems to be the first to find and post these stories on FR. pissant is a Duncon Hunter fanatic bent on destroying Palin.

Thats right..
Newt is their man ! This is the kind of vermin people promote within the GOP establishment.
Newt on why he wanted a divorce from Jackie: “She’s not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of a President. And besides, she has cancer.”

Pissant desire nothing to do with women period....Palin,Haley...etc
Some type of aversion..or something

Look to the Giuliani purge for the tipping point. Afterwards and increasingly the vacuum those sensible posters left was filled with Birchers, paulists, and more general nut-types. Sarah is too much a RINO in their eyes. So anything goes.
Of course Reagan would be RINO too. And probably Goldwater as well.

“People” is far too nice of a tone... political hack operatives... that is more descriptive of the members that promote these lies and distortions.

I understand that Todd took him behind the woodshed... it will only happen once... if it ever happens.
