Middle East and terrorism, occasional political and Jewish issues Ping List. High Volume

If you’d like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

..................

I'll post this on both threads, though it saddens me.

I listened to the youtube, kudus to the CNN host for calling him on his ignorant comment.

To my knowledge there were no Jewish concentration camp guards. There were Jews who aided the Nazis in the camps to delay their deaths and in many cases to survive. We can all judge that ourselves. But camp guards, members of the SS, that’s a libel. Largely of the dead, which is convenient for this POS.

I was born under President Truman. I remember the Eisenhower days a little bit, I hit double digits under Ike.

Race relations I suspect I remember from those days largely from what I’ve read later. Early 60s on, I remember.

This is the first time in my life I’ve felt a racist force emanating from my government. My government was a force opposing racism through most of my life, I’m not sure it is today.

On a lighter note, I’ve often criticized the ADL here, and I’ve often defended them when they do things right, not always popular.

They do an adequate, I think the sample should be larger, annual survey on antisemitism. Which has been declining in America, ironically at the same time the FBI reports increases in attacks, a different issue.

Without looking up the stats, which I’ll be glad to post if anyone can’t find them, when asked about a dozen questions, about 12% or 13% of Americans hold a majority of antisemitism views.

If you look at the demographics, whites are in single digits. Blacks, about 30% are majority antisemitic in the questioning.

My question, if one or two neo-nazis make the Tea Partys racist, can I accuse the NAACP of being a bunch of Jewhaters. I can find one or two incidents. Which the NAACP may have acted on, but I don't believe that matters.

It’s a shame our nation is coming back to racial politics.

There were certainly Jewish conspirators with the Nazis, but probably not concentration camp guards. And to be fair, conspirators were faced with a choice of conspiring to live or resisting to die horribly, along with their families. For a couple of references, see the book “The Belarus Secret” or the movie “Defiance”. And not just Jews; plenty of German citizens conspired with the Nazis to avoid a nasty death. It was a very bad time to be a resistor. It was a very bad time to be a human being, if the Nazis were in town.
