Bennie Thompson of the 2nd District in Mississippi is one of the most liberal members of Congress. Bill Marcy is fighting an uphill battle against him but that doesn't stop him from showing up at one of Bennie's town hall's last week in his campaign bus to ask him some questions. Thought you might like to watch the video. Starts off with Marcy asking him why his district is the poorest in the country.

Is it true that the guy does not live in the district in which he is running?
One of the problems with this crook is that he is chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee and has done everything in his power to defund immigration law enforcement programs while traipsing all over the world on the taxpayer’s dime, in particular to tropical beach locations (lots of threats to our national security there.) Some of those trips were paid for by Jack Abramoff, but Thompson never suffered any consequences. That this man exercises any power whatsoever, and that he has access to sensitive national security information, is a disgrace and a danger. Also: he is in office only because they gerrymandered him an all-black district that is 300 miles long and half as wide.
A candidate does not have to live in the district to run for Congress in Ohio. I do not know what mechanism allows her to do so. The candidate is a Dem county commish (big time Lefty) who is running against Pat Tiberi, who holds the seat formerly held by John Kasich.
I watched it...with disbelief..the Dem blames the problems of his district on “decisions made in the 1930’s”...and then proudly announces that no Social Security check has ever bounced..and he’s the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee..
FYI..and it looks like a pretty interesting website..
A member of the US House of Representatives only has to be a citizen of the State of he or she representatives, thus anyone in the State can run for any congressional district.

I think here in TX, one has to live in the district in which they are running—but now that I think about it, I don’t know if that’s true or not. It just doesn’t make sense to me that your representative wouldn’t live in your district——I’ll have to find out.

Bennie was down here in Arizona a week or so ago showing how tough Gabby Giffords is on border security. ROFLOL I was so proud. Gabby is so hard up that she brought Bennie to Tucson to say that she really really really advocates for tough border control via the Homeland Security committee.
