This is completely insane. Europe is backing away from big government, socialist policies while the US just keeps spending and digging us deeper into a hole. European countries aren’t looking for free market solutions to their problems because their governments did a fine job at centralized control of health care and the economy. They’re looking for free market solutions because their policies have failed. They’ve run out of other people’s money!

Take the United Kingdom. Obama just appointed, without any Senate hearings, a man who praised the British health care system as a model for the rest of us to follow. He said (and I’m paraphrasing) that any just health care system must redistribute wealth. Will he recant now that the British are trying a pro-market agenda to cure their ailing health care system? ....

The Euros aren’t looking for free market solutions to anything right now. They have merely bailed themselves out with their own money and implemented cosmetic austerity measures because that is the way the political and fiscal winds are blowing over there.

When they start repealing their onerous VAT taxes and various Nationalized healthcare schemes, then and only then will I believe in their newfound faith in Capitalism. Until then, they are only kicking the can down the road in my estimation.

Just FYI - the US isn’t “doubling Down”; it’s our president, Barack ‘Nikolai Lenin’ Obama who’s doing it - backed by a full house of congressional Marxists and their voting enablers.
