Lib Media Bias: After Letting Levi Johnston Bash the Palins, CBS Mum on His Retraction

Not once, not twice, not thrice, but four separate times in 2009 CBS had Levi Johnston on the Early Show for exclusive interviews with Democrat-hack-posing-as-journalist Maggie Rodriguez.

Johnston’s fifteen minutes of fame began when he knocked up Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol out of wedlock (that was probably about 15 minutes too) and, as a reward, was used as a media spokesperson for bashing Sarah and the entire Palin family.

(Don’t bother looking to the Early Show for guests discussing the then-new president, his radical associates, or his family. You won’t find anyone.)

As is more and more the case with the mainstream news media, Levi Johnston was not a legitimate news story; he was a political cudgel to weild against their most feared and hated woman: Sarah Palin. Plain and simple. And CBS should have been ashamed of themselves four-fold.

But yesterday something surprising occurred: In People magazine of all places, Johnston goes on the record retracting many of the charges he made against the Palins on national TV.

Kyle Dennen at NewsBusters, who documents the four Early Show appearences, writes:

One wonders when CBS will offer a similar apology for so aggressively promoting Johnston, despite his lack of credibility. At the very least, the network should acknowledge the fact that he now recants past statements he made on their air.

At the very least is right. But this morning the Early Show and no show on CBS even mentioned Johnston’s People interview. What a freaking surprise.

Further proof of media bias, not that it is needed. The bashing of Palin with lies and distortions has been obvious for a long time.

That said, I do not trust Levi J. no more than the media. His fifteen minutes was running out with no impressive accomplishments, he wants more publicity, and he figures he wants to attach himself once again to Sarah Palin in case she will be running for a national office.

Or he just might be trying to use this ruse to get more "dirt" on Palin and sell the story. This sleazy character's link to her will only harm her politically.
