Can you think of a disaster area in which all media and citizens were forbidden to enter? I can’t.
1. Obama’s incompetence. The man’s ignorance and lack of leadership skills have never been more evident than with this crisis. Why allow the media and citizens with their phone cameras to record what is actually happening down there? Why is there a 65-foot safety zone and anyone entering it will be charged with a felony, jail time and a 40K fine??
2. Malicious intent. The idea that our President and gov’t leaders would allow a disaster to continue in order to justify their agenda is nearly incomprehensible, unless you’re dealing with Obama and his minions. This accident is allowing him to stop all offshore drilling and now there is a movement to stop coal mining. Again, the results of this oil spill aren’t anything they would want to have documented.
3. General, overall cover-up due to paranoia. We’ve been given conflicting data as to how much oil is actually pouring out of the sea bed. Then, we’re told there are other vents also pouring out more oil. Is it possible that this disaster is far worse than anything we’ve been told? If not, why the media blackout?? Obama and Rahm paranoid? Naahh! Could never happen.
4. The disaster is far, far worse than we’ve been told and is a total FUBAR. The White House’s main goal is to keep Obama propped up and looking good ABOVE ALL ELSE. An out-of-control disaster would leave a permanent stain on his record, thus the blackout.
With other administrations, I’m sure there were bits and pieces of information that was covered up, but NOTHING LIKE THIS. There are millions of people who live along the Gulf coast and they know about as much as the rest of us. Don’t they have the right to know whether or not it’s safe to even live in their towns and cities?
If there is an honest reason for blacking out the media, other than what the feds want to have reported, I can’t think of one.
