Clinton has a way of saying something true but awful in such a way that it could be interpreted another way so that what he said was ok. The DBM interpreted this as "making up for it" when in reality Byrd actually did spend the rest of his life lying (making it up).
I heard a clip of these remarks by Slick Willie, and the worst part of this ‘whitewash’ was the clapping of the congregation after Clinton had, essentially, accused everyone in West Virginia of being racist. I had to wonder if any black people were at the service.
But I wasn’t curious enough to actually try to look at any video! LOL!
