Obama and the “Internet Kill Switch!”
The Silent Majority ^ | 06-30-10 | J. D. Longstreet

Posted on 06/30/2010 5:22:17 PM PDT by Lexluthor69

WE saw this coming years ago and warned that if Obama was elected he and the Socialist/Democrats would make a strong effort to take over the Internet

Well, recently, a US. Senate Panel approved an Internet “Kill Switch” for Obama. The so-called “kill switch” gives the President the power to “turn off the Internet.”

A sponsor of the bill was heard to say that the ChiCom (Chinese Communist) had that power in their country, and he felt the US government needed that same power, as well.

It seems to have, somehow, escaped the notice of those who pushed this abomination of a bill through the senate panel that China is a communist nation. A dictatorship.

Oh, you are going to love the title of this bill. It is: “Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act.” Don’t you just love the way the socilaists in our Congress wrap themselves in red, white, and blue while they push harder and harder, every day, to take our hard won freedom away?

Look, this is serous stuff. The Internet is the most powerful weapon Americans can use to thwart the agenda of the Socialists in the US government. They KNOW THAT and they are determined to either bring it under their control – or – shut it down inside the United States. The voice of desent cannot be allowed in an Obama Regime!

The internet is a wonderful tool for organizing and staying in touch with like-minded people. But we are going to have to establish alternate means of communication and organization if we are to survive the Obama Era.

We have become dependant on this wonderful tool, and if it is taken from us, we will be helpless. They know this, full well.

So it is time to step away from the keyboard and start organizing in the three-dimensional world. That way, when the Kill Switch is thrown, we will still be capable of resistance.

Mailing lists, phone trees, gatherings, etc. It is time to return to Old School organizing.

Today’s ammo shortages will be as nothing compared to when the internet is taken over.

The downfall of the Obama regime is going to be spectacular.
All they know how to do is overreach and subvert our Republic and our Constitution. They’re idiots to think they’ll get away with this.

I like your tag-line (Been to all 57 States.... Or is it 58?), but in defense of The Marxist®, he’s so used to “vote early, vote often” in Chicago that he probably counted Illinois 8 times. Or maybe Kenya...that is an American state, isn’t it?

In order “turn it off” you have to route it to specific, known and defined points. You can also completely monitor the internet from these points, so therefor I believe this is more about monitoring than it is about shutting it off.

Monitoring is better than shutting it down from a diabolical perspective

What would it take to route around the choke points? Gotta believe we can find a way to use wireless networks to bypass the traditional internet infrastructure if they try this. What roadblocks would there be to developing our own ‘outernet’ that we could bring up to bypass a kill switch?

“What would it take to route around the choke points? “

These are not run-of-the-mill choke points. they are major multi-hundreds of gigabit per second nodes. There is no real way to bypass a major node unless you have another major node to run through.....and if the government has all the major nodes, they can shut it down, bog it down, or simply spy on any traffic passing through the network.

This is the excuse to place a government controlled access to each major internet node. I don’t think they’d ever shut it off, but ultimately, the government would break any constitutional right, break any law, and use any other means necessary to protect itself.

This is the government we have now.
