St Louis Cardinals manager, Tony LaRussa, gave his response to a question concerning the Tea Party attending the baseball game and what he thought about that (in an obvious attempt by the part of the journalist to drum up a negative comment about the Tea Party).
He was nonchalant in his answer. He basically shrugged his shoulders and said this is America, we can all agree and disagree and there is a lot to that that I agree with.
And then in a pleasant and surprising turn he switched the subject to the Arizona immigration law and his answer delighted me! He said, I am actually supportive of what Arizona is doing. If the national government isnt fixing the problem, you gotta take care of it yourself!
I just might have to start watching some baseball! Go Cardinals!!! I do love a man with some common sense!
You must be really certain!!
I don’t think this is at all surprising. Why should Phil Jackson and Tony LaRussa think any differently than the American majority?
The Cubs had him and they gave him up, the story of the franchise.
Tony LaRussa is awesome..
but.. I hope the Cardinals sit home in October.
GO REDS...
This is very good to hear. He lives in California and probably sees it first hand.
I still wish we had a different coach. I supported him until 2 years ago. I have a lot of issues with him.
Don’t flame me.....free speech LOL
A good Tampa boy who hasn’t forgotten his roots. Tony played high school baseball at Jefferson at the same time his good friend Lou Pinella was playing for Jesuit. Both were sons of legal immigrants.
Tom Izzo or Greg Popovich? :)
Seriously, I knew there was something about La Russa I liked, even back in those awful "Bash Brothers" overrated A's days.
Imagine a lawyer (LaRussa) who actually thinks.
We may not see any “Los Cardinals jerseys”, but I think I’ll buy a couple of Cardinals jerseys even though I’m a Giants fan. It should be fun wearing them to the games in SF.
