WE have been sneaking in “Remington soft-points” for our 308’s for a long time. Nothing pushes through armor and bullet proof vests faster than a knife through butter than a soft tip bullet.

Many of my fellow soldiers are using hollow points for their M-4’s (5.56mm) that really improves the drop rate on enemy with first rounds!

Federal makes a nice 165 grain soft point boat tail that performs like the 168hpbt, but transfers much more energy due to the expansion of the soft point. I bought a case and fired a few, very accurate, close groups.
