So you are under the impression that the tens of thousands of herbs on this planet don't have quite as long of a history as alcohol? I would say that the the use of herbs with medicinal uses predates alcohol. They have been used before history started being recorded.

Apart from sterilizing external wounds what are the amazing benefits of alcohol? IMO it is a much more dangerous drug than heroin for several reasons.
