Actor Val Kilmer, who said that in his New Mexico town he is surrounded by drunks and the people who served in Vietnam are borderline criminal, went before the San Miguel County Commission in Las Vegas to clarify his comments.
However, the residents are not happy because of his underlying motives.
I sincerely apologize for comments that I have made. They have been seen as a negative about our community, about ourselves, about my neighbors because its just not who I am.

Oh, I’m sorry....”

Kilmer showed up in front of the commission and issued an apology because he was seeking a permit to rent out guest houses to visitors on a 6,000 acre ranch along the Pecos River. The apology was enough for the commission to grant him a permit. I hope they at least made him promise not to rent to any drunks or borderline criminals. Of course, THAT would mean none of his Hollywood friends could ever visit his ranch.

You know, lets give Val the benefit of the doubt. He may actually be surrounded by drunks and the people who served in Vietnam who are borderline criminal, but if so is it real smart of Val to draw attention to himself by kicking those dogs? Proof positive you have to be litely retarded to succeed in Hollywood.

The war has been over for almost 40 years, yet the scumbag left STILL can't get stop denigrating us.
Someone needs to remind this MFer that North Vietnam pols and generals have omitted it was the anti-war scum that gave them the "courage" to continue the war ... for at least three or four years.
Do you know how many people on both sides of the war died during that time?

This "borderline criminal" has added you to his list of celebrities to avoid, ignore and boycott. Since some of your money came from me, I hope you will enjoy your new, lower standard of living.
JERK!!!

The reason Kilmer can speak so freely about drunks is because he is one of them.

I don’t much care who Val is, but this should be a lesson to him to watch what he says. I doubt his problems are over.

While that is true Nixon could have ended it the day after he took office by cranking up the B52s like he did years later

This shit has been going on far, far to long. All of my friends served in Viet Nam as did I. They were wild when they got out, as was I, but now they are the Grandfathers, who are respected in their communities as were their Grandfathers and Fathers who likewise returned from our wars.
