You’ve had oil leaks in Saudi Arabia 100 times as bad and skimmers are able to retrieve the oil from the surface.

Depth under water is the issue. The maximum depth in the Persian Gulf is 300 ft and the average is 160 ft. If you have a leak it will surface very close to the rig and you can contain it instead of traveling miles underwater like the current leak. You can also send crews down to work on the rig. Even 300 ft is within SCUBA depth.

You don’t think a flotilla of skimmers off shore would have prevented the oil from reaching shore?

If so, then it’s a matter of time before the oil saturates every inch of beach and secondly, there is NOTHING they can do.

All these little people out there with their shrimp boats and booms are wasting their time.

I think it’s seems clear. BP jumped at the chance to close out this thing for 20 billion where by the close out the right for future claims.

I think too, that Obama and company KNOW that this is worse that what’s been told and they’re diverting the attention to other things.
