It’s taking 2 to 3 minutes to load a page. I’ve emptied my cache and tried to delete any cookies with free, republic or free republic in them.

I have a MAC. Any suggestions? Help.

Don't know if it was coincidental, but I did what you did, empty the cache, deleted cookies, rebooted my Mac THEN I unplugged my modem, and router waited five minutes, replugged them back up -- and it is now fixed!

Again, not sure it "didn't just happen," but the FR connection has now apparently been repaired and if you're still having problems, it might be worth the try.
