WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama ventured from the White House for some Friday night baseball as his hometown Chicago White Sox took on the Washington Nationals and their new star pitcher, Stephen Strasburg.

Obama made a surprise trip to the Nationals' stadium in Southeast D.C. to kick off Father's Day weekend and watch Strasburg, a sensation in Washington and the world of sports, make his third career start.

The president, daughters Sasha and Malia and brother-in-law Conrad Ng arrived at the stadium with an entourage that included White House senior adviser David Axelrod.

Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf was also spotted in the box for the sold-out game.

After the hard week he had, having to talk to the head of BP for twenty minutes and eating a snocone, damnit, the man deserves some r & r!

Conrad NG is married to Maya Soetero, a woman whom Malia and Sasha resemble more than they resemble Michelle or Zero.

He’s watching baseball as the Gulf is watching oil slime their beaches and kill their way of life.

I stand with you...wasn’t that what he said? It’s on my mind in the morning and when I go to bed at night, I won’t rest ...ah, nevermind.

I believe the term coined was "laser like focus" or somesuch. Wait, that might have been about jobs. Or mortgages. Or oil. Or health care.

Can someone post a link where Obama’s official daily schedule is posted to we can follow just how “hardworking” he is? The schedules I have seen seem rather fluffy.

He watches the sports page more than he watches what is happening in the Gulf. What an irresponsible, clueless person we have as a President.

He must be running the Secret Service to the ground. Protecting a President is no easy task and there is allot of preparation prior to making a public appearance. I have a feeling he tells them to F off and just does his own thing.

What is the cost of all of this for security? It must cost a fortune for him to just stop off at the corner for a pack of Kools.

I was invited to see George W Bush in person as he was departing Seattle on Air Force One, and I was blown away by the amount of security. We were two bus loads of GOP delegates, but still had to go a Secret Service inspection line just to stand in a rope line for photos and hand shakes. Our cameras even had to be turned on in front of an agent just to show they were real.

When Bush attended the Yankee game in 2001 look at the length they went to to protect him. Oh and stay watch through the end to see how a real man pitches

That brings back so many memories, and makes me so proud of the day when we had a President who loved his country.
