Fed Up! Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal Orders Guard to Build Barrier
Conservative Examiner ^ | 6/14/2010 | Anthony G. Martin

Posted on 06/14/2010 6:52:49 PM PDT by Welshman007

According to ABC News,

In Fort Jackson, La., Jindal has ordered the Guard to start building barrier walls right in the middle of the ocean. The barriers, built nine miles off shore, are intended to keep the oil from reaching the coast by filling the gaps between barrier islands.

Jindal intends to send the bill for the massive project to BP.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama traveled to the Gulf Coast for a 4th time today and compared the disaster to 9/11. Yet all the while the disaster keeps getting worse, and Obama, unlike George W. Bush in the aftermath of the 9/11 attack, has played golf nearly 40 times in 8 weeks, celebrated a Mexican holiday, held fundraisers for Barbara Boxer, and even today enjoyed snowcones on the beach.

Instead of treating the Gulf oil disaster like it is truly a catastrophe along the line of 9/11, Obama's actions have indicated he actually believes nothing of the sort. His approach has been shockingly lackadaisical, and rather than doing what was necessary to contain the spill early-on, he sees it as an opportunity to campaign for his massive cap-and-trade energy tax that will zap Americans with an extra $3000-4000 bucks per year in energy costs.

Obama intends to lobby for that legislation during his speech to the nation on the Gulf oil disaster tomorrow evening.

I am not interested in a word he has to say anymore. Too little, too late.

Don’t forget that all taxes, fines, and fees are paid by one person: the consumer, through an increased product cost.

So, when Obammie the Commie starts flapping his lying lips about making BP pay, THAT DOES NOT STOP THE LEAK AND DOES NOT CLEAN UP THE MESS.

What he is really saying is that you and I will pay for all of this with higher costs at the pump.

Excellent move by Jindal. The more the State governors take initiative in the face of federal dereliction, the more power will drain from Washington DC to the States. This can only be good. Wrest control from the Usurper and return it to the real representatives of the people!

Liberal media needs to step up to the plate. They are so afraid of criticizing this president just because they picked him and now they are stuck with a man who can't lead.

Even Joe Scarborough can't bring himself to criticize Obama unless he puts President Bush down first. It happens every day. It must be in his MSNBC contract.

And this explains, completely, his inaction to date. He and his administration have been playing politics with this thing from Day One. Today I read that Netherlands offered their skimming equipment and ships to take the oil off the top of the water; and, also to build the barrier walls, which they said they could have done in 3 weeks. They did this on day 3 of the disaster. BO said no thanks.

Yeah, this is the "environmental" president. All he wants is an excuse for that scam call cap and trade so that he and his Chicago cronies can make millions, maybe billions. This guy seriously offends me.

" What he is really saying is that you and I will pay for all of this with higher costs at the pump. "

Does that mean at BP's gas stations ?
Or will the tax payer foot the bill at the pump as the oil industry as a whole ?

Sadly, it has never occurred to any governor to do the same thing with regard to Roe v. Wade.

But the Constitutional principle is the same: When the federal government is attacking the people, a governor’s duty is to protect the people.

This situation calls for a central command post and a coordinated effort both above and below the water. Every country that has offered help should be considered. The Jones act should be waived immediately. This is the most pathetic approach I have ever seen to solving a disaster in this country. I hate to say it but this guy makes Jimmy Carter look like a Mensa member. God Bless Bobby Jindal for taking the lead and showing somwe leadership.

Okay, I did my rant; however, I forgot to say --- GO JINDAL! He had said at the beginning of this that he was going to do it himself if he had to, and they could throw him in jail. Well, his rhetoric died down a bit; but, I'm glad to see that he has decided that, that boob in the WH isn't interested in helping with this crisis; only in using it.

Apparently, one salient difference between republicans and democrats is that democrats just talk, on and on and on and on and ... on about what they would do (if only they had the courage to put their money where their mouths are), and republicans simply go out and do it.

Agreed.

I am waiting to see if this Administration comes out ans say (a) Governor, “we” have not given you the go ahead to do that or (b) Governor, “we” have not authorized you to use our National Guard.

I’m tending to think there will be quiet in DCville over this.

Somebody tells me his weekly email to supporters asked if conservatives are convinced yet about cap and trade. She sais its as if he was trying to tell supporters that conservatives may need to be punished some more before we’ll accept cap and trade.

Which is why the Regime and its handmaidens in the media are trying to vilify AZ. I agree with you this initiative on the part of the states is great and maybe it's what will wake voters up.

I hope he does say that. Many more people will realize that he has no clue how to solve this problem and that he really doesn’t care that much about it. Tuesday night he will give a Bill Clinton type quivering lip speech and Wednesday he will probably tee off about 10:00AM All better!.
