But even 9/11 did not silence Bush’s critics. They still insisted it was American foregin policy that did this to us. Times have changed a lot since 1940s, people held FDR up to be the US Cult of personality, hence allowing him 4 terms. Even as much as the nation has decayed, there are always going to be portions of the American population who don’t follow behind anyone without question even in wartimes.
