Alvin Greene, a relative unknown, surprised everyone in South Carolina on Tuesday night by winning the chance to face Sen. Jim DeMint, a Republican, this fall with a victory over state lawmaker Vick Rawl in the Democratic primary.
The Democrats elected this guy in a primary election and now, not wanting to admit that the Democrat voters really are that gullible, they are asking him to step down, as if a mistake were made. Now thats laughable!
South Carolina Democratic Party Chair Carol Fowler on Wednesday asked Greene to withdraw from the race for U.S. Senate because he supposedly showed some dirty pictures to a college student. I suppose thats a worse offense than having Barney Frank romantically involved with a male prostitute, but that seems to be the typical values represented by the lefties.

I really don’t understand the problem with him not stepping down. If he was actually elected in a proper election, then that seems to say the voters picked him. I think it would be a bigger problem if he stepped down despite the votes.
Not saying I want him to win, mind you. I just think it’s important to respect the votes, because if we fall prey to the idea that the votes don’t matter, that we just change things around if we don’t like the outcome of an election, then we lose a lot of ground in this thing called “democracy.”

Absolutely! So what if he's a perverted stalker of coeds, a completely incoherent speaker, and no one can figure out who gave him the $10 k needed to get on the ballot. He won the democratic primary fair and square and truly represents the proud traditions of that party.
It would be interesting to know where he came up with the filing fee but after all, he's the peoples' choice!

It would be interesting to know where he came up with the filing fee but after all, he's the peoples' choice! If there were no legal shennanigans involved in him getting on the ballot, if there is nothing in his campaign or history that goes against requirements for candidacy or election, and the people voting picked him, then yes. I say leave him on the ballot. Is he abhorrent? Is he deplorable? Is he scum? Yes, yes, probably yes. Does he stand for the traditions and standards of the Democratic Party? By what we see on many posts here at FR, he sure does! Unless there's a legal reason to remove him, I don't blame him for telling the Dems "no." Do not mistake that for my liking or supporting the man.

The white leaders of the Democrat party demanding that the black primary winner step down - because he won - anyone want to hypothesize on how much hullabaloo there would be if we made just one change to that description - changing "Democrat" to "Republican"?

Folks - you are ignoring the real story here. This is a DNC dry run for fixing the Mid Terms and 2012. If you look at the voting numbers and patterns you will learn how the DNC will achueve two upset victories.
Be afraid, be very afraid.
