She is as bad today as she was last week.

It’s called principals.

They don’t come in a box at Wal-Mart either.

So I suppose a box from Wal-Mart is where you bought your English degree?

yeah that and $1.00 will get you a cup of coffee but it will not get you a seat at the table or a voice in the election in the CA senate race.

In general, I agree wholeheartedly with you, but we either get Boxer with her seniority and her party out of there or we allow her to run things for anther six years.

We can fight the RINO at the next primary for that seat. In the meantime, let’s cut the Democrats off at the knees. Even if the Democrats are the party in power next year, they won’t be giving committee leadership positions to a RINO over their other liberal options.

Principles are fine. They are good. But absolutism can be destructive. Eric Hoffer wrote in The True Believer:

Free men are aware of the imperfection inherent in human affairs, and they are willing to fight and die for that which is not perfect. They know that basic human problems can have no final solutions, that our freedom, justice, equality, etc. are far from absolute, and that the good life is compounded of half measures, compromises, lesser evils, and gropings toward the perfect.

The rejection of approximations and the insistence on absolutes are the manifestation of a nihilism that loathes freedom, tolerance, and equity.

There is never a final victory. There is always as Hoffer writes above. Alexander Hamilton supported his arch-enemy, Thomas Jefferson, after the election of 1800 was tossed into Congress. Why? Because Aaron Burr was worse.

Maybe at the National Education Association?
