Piyush Jindal was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Amar and Raj Jindal, who came to the United States as immigrants from India.[1]
Jindal attended Baton Rouge Magnet High School, graduating in 1988. "He always had his eye on, first of all, where he wanted to go, and second, how he was going to get there," said a former teacher. He competed in tennis tournaments, started a computer newsletter, a retail candy business, and a mail-order software company. He spent his free time working at the concession stands during LSU football games.[6] Jindal was one of 50 students nationwide admitted to the elite PLME program at Brown University, guaranteeing him a place in medical school. His interest was in public policy. Moved by a sense of indebtedness to his father, who overcame abject poverty in his native India and wanted his eldest son to become a doctor, Jindal completed a second major in biology. He graduated in 1991 at the age of 20, with honors in both majors.[7][8]
Jindal was named a member of 1992 USA Today All-USA Academic Team. He was accepted by both Harvard Medical School and Yale Law School, but studied at New College, Oxford, as a Rhodes Scholar. He received an M.Litt. degree in political science with an emphasis in health policy from the University of Oxford in 1994 for his thesis "A needs-based approach to health care".[7] He turned down an offer to study for a D.Phil. in politics,[9][10] but instead joined the consulting firm McKinsey & Company.
Your point???
.
What is your definition of "heavy weight thinker?"
Someone that can understand the exact agenda of the opposition, and develop a strategy to thwart it in real time in an active public forum.
Palin does it daily, hourly, sometimes minute by minute, but Jindel couldn’t do it once, even with a pre-written speech.
Those that bury themselves in academia are never heavy thinkers; that’s why they are there, where they are protected. Can’t ride around the block without their training wheels, no matter how long they’ve been riding.
.
Jindal has not been buried in or part of academia.
Palin resigned as govenor so as to be more outspoken.
As for the horrible Jindal speech, he had a cold and was in an echo chamber. He talks too fast for me, but...
The point is, Jindal is very intelligent and not a lightweight thinker which was your initial comment.
One can be intelligent yet not be a heavy thinker. It’s not a function of just intelligence, but also personal initiative, and desire.
Very few have the drive to think fast on their feet.
You obviously are not very familiar with Jindal.
Frankly, Jindal bores me to death.
He reminds me of my mother-in-law.
Bless your heart!
LOL! Pity wasted young lives!
