The truth is George Bush was incompetent and over his head and Katrina showed and Barack Obama is incompetent and over his head and the oil spill is showing it. Though in his case politics probably plays a role given all the money BP has given him.

Waht it actually shows is:

1) The federal government is not all powerful and can't be counted on to handle a crisis like tis in a rapid manner.

2) Ray Nagin, and Kathleen Blanco are political hacks. Nagin had the opportunity to get the Citizens of NO out using school buses instead he let the busses be damaged by the flood waters and the citizens were trapped in a city that was below sea level and amounted to a fish bowl. Blanco refused to federalize the Guardsmen in her state becuase Bush was a Republican, and the feds can't go in with out permission.

3) Obozo is as big a political hack because Bobby Jihndal requested that the state be allowed to form sand barriers, and the EPA refused to allow it.

Of course Obama is not going to give Jindal anything. Jindal has the ability to be the Republican answer to him.

I haven’t said that Bush’s response to Katrina was worse than Obama’s to the spill. Far from it. Obama’s response to the oil spill makes Bush’s response to Katrina look like Bob Riley’s.

However, I used that as an analogue because in both cases, the impression was/has been made that they have not been as attentive or concerned as they needed to. That’s why this has been called Obama’s Katrina.
