An Israeli act of war against Turkey is an act of war against NATO and NATO is supposedly obligated to respond. We’re gonna get drug into the middle of this and our interests will suffer either way go. We need to stay out of this as much as possible. We have an oil spill to deal with.
NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance. It does not oblige NATO to go to war on behalf of a member (e.g. Turkey) that chooses to be the aggressor.
